Check right rear brake lamp
Got this message today, so figured it was the bulb. Turns out it's not the bulb ... the socket itself for the brake lamp bulb doesn't work (all the other sockets work). I swapped bulbs around, etc. to test it. All connections look good and tight. Has this happened to anyone here before? I assume I need to replace the bulb carrier? FYI, I had the carriers replaced under TSB years ago, and this is the first that this issue has happened.

I just had some connector pins and the lamp socket changed due to what I am told is a common "overheating" problem with the W204 (when I first got the message some time ago I noted some pin damage and the beginning of plastic melt so I cleaned it up and told myself I would attend to it some weekend but in the end it was easier to let the service shop who were very familiar with the problem handle it). I note that you say the connectors look good so I assume you have satisfied yourself there is no pin damage. Could it still be related to the same issue but with damage only occurring in the brake light pathway on the bulb carrier? A couple of minutes with a multimeter should be able to confirm (a) that you have power at the connector and (b) whether the brake light path on the carrier is a complete circuit.
Does the onboard system record a more detailed sophisticated error code than the dash warning? If yes, an ODBII reader may reveal more.

So I have the Depo rear lights LEDs and I get that message once in a while. I keep checking and I don’t see anything wrong, everything works. I think it’s a voltage thing.
