2009 C63 AMG, 2013 CLS63 SAMG, FORD F350, BMW 750LI
Car Won't Start No Matter What.

I left my car sitting for about 3 weeks.

Then I decided to drive it today and the car won't start.

My key won't unlock or lock the car.

I have to manually take the key out and unlock the car door.

No lights turn on at all. No odometer reading nothing.

I put the key in and nothing happens no sound or anything at all.

No lights nothing.

I tried jumping the car but nothing happens.

My battery is brand new less than 2 months old.


Has this happened to anyone before?

my key still unlocked/locked everything though. Maybe try changing the key battery first.

Sounds like a cell inside the battery died. Take the battery out of the car and bring it to an auto parts store (Autozone, O'reillys, etc.) and they can test the battery for you. Even if it's 2 months old they are still prone to dropping a cell if left uncharged and the car fully drains the battery. I've killed a 3 month old OE C6 Corvette GS battery over winter when I didn't drive it for 2 weeks. Same symptoms like you described, even when I tried to jump start the car.

Agreed. Had this happen to my Jeep, battery was only 4 days old! Thankfully it was under warranty, but still its the battery 100% sure on that.

I took the battery to autozone they told me the battery was fine, Just needed to be charged. They charged it for me but when I took it home same thing. Nothing happened.

I thought it was the battery too, but had the battery fully charged but still nothing.

If so have you popped out the pushbutton start and inserted key to "marry" it?

honestly sounds like your battery is dead. check voltage at the posts then remove the terminals and clean them up before reinstalling. with my W211 I had an intermittent start issue which was caused by dirty connection between post and terminal. cleaned the inside of the terminals and all was good afterwards.

Sounds stupid but try locking the car for a while with the key remote, with a fully charged battery.
Like a half an hour. Then unlock it with the remote and try start it again? Could just be the immobilizer/alarm.

Hey, Chris. May I ask how much it cost you to replace your ESL? I'm just curious because just this year I've replaced my alternator, fuel pumps and aux fuel filter and I'm wondering how much more I'll be paying for an ESL when the time comes.

$1300 at the stealership (no indy shops in the Fresno area).

can the ESL be rebuilt? i know for some Mercedes modules, there is an aftermarket for repair.

i heard mine break. It sounded like gears stripping or something crunching. And they had to reprogram both keys.

I looked up EIS/ESL failure but doesn't seem like it.

I bought a 2000a jump pack.

It got power to the car but still wont crank.

I see some lights turn on inside the car but not all.

the terminals are all clean.

Everything is fine the battery is relatively new.

I bought a 2000a jump pack.

It got power to the car but still wont crank.

I see some lights turn on inside the car but not all.

I can turn the key and the dash comes on but no click or cranks.

I just read the post. seems similar but I recently got a bigger jump pack to try and jump my car it didn't jump it, but it got some power to the car. I see a few lights turn on but not all(which is weird, ive never seen only half the lights come on)

I have a battery tester, my new battery is at 9v which isn't terrible i don't think.

but the car won't crank or click.

9V? It should be around 12.4-12.6V. 9V is pretty much the same as stone dead.

9V wont crank any car.

Needs to be OVER 12v

I had it hooked onto the car and charged to 12.5V but the car still won't start.
