Year 2019: C63 w204/w205 depreciation

Been noticing that the c63’s are starting to get into the 12-19k range for the high mileage w204’s. A lot of owners are overvaluing their cars but the market definitely has them taking a big hit. I noticed that the w205’s for p31 have been doing pretty good for a amg. The 507 looks really good. Just wondering how the market is going for the owners because I may be off on my projections. I’m looking for another build so I just been analyzing the market to the best of my ability, I can be easily wrong about these projections.

I just sold my 2010 FBO C63 (non-P31, headbolts done) with 109k miles for $17k.

I don't have a solid prediction on the W204, but I will say my feeling is that they may drop at some point to a low point of 15k or so and then start to rise. It is the last NA high output V8 designed in house by AMG. Just that I think will give this a similar status as we see with some older American muscle cars. AMG's in general have very quick and aggressive depreciation. However I think once more and more people are buying and modifying them and seeing the bang for the buck, they may start to demand more dollars as people will want one. The 507's I don't foresee depreciating much and if anything could go up if they are very low mileage and stock. Just my opinion. As a side note. How many other small, practical cars are out there that have a 6.2 liter V8 with nearly 500hp or more? not many I can think of. That gives it a unique position in the market place.

Interested to know as well. Like Hookah said, it's the last big V8 AMG will probably ever produce. It's like the 1960's all over again.

I think you said it perfect. I could see AMG's of our time now and of course a lot of these modern muscle cars re igniting what 60's muscles cars did. Just wait a few more years when more and more manufacturers ditch combustion engines and go electric. People are going to crave that raw, visceral feeling these cars give.

i know the e55’s are doing well in terms of just holding that 10-15k mark because I own one but realistically I’m stuck on that number 12-18k for w204 that’s private owner. I just can’t believe that it’s like 80% of the owners are overpricing their cars.

show me a w204 c63 for 12k for one. For 2 you make zero sense. Year, mileage, options, condition all account for pricing. To randomly come up with that price and say they are over priced makes zero sense.

they aren’t random they are assumed, I disclosed that in A message 12-18k because there have been owners who have listed there high mileage c63’s for 15k and most likely got 12-13k in the end. Your looking at listing prices your not looking at what everyone really got....... you can list ur c63 for 20k with high mileage but don’t be surprised when u sell it for 3-4K less.. As the other owner just said a FBO with longtubes and lsd wavetrack with 109k 2010 was sold for 17k his listing price was probably over 20k. And I mean it truthfully and nicely, there are many other owners unable to sell over 20k for a w204. The market is a lot lower then what everyone is asking. The only cars that are holding value are 507. Nvm I’m just repeating myself at this ponit read the comments

iv read. Location also plays a roll. When you arbitrarily say high mileage car sells for that range it’s plain dumb. You need a year, set miles, options, pp non pp ect ect. So a 2015 coupe with 100k miles should sell for 13k. Are you high. See how dumb your posts sounds

^thread starting sentence.......

why you over analyzing, you obviously know what this thread is about and what me and everyone else is referring to even tho I’m very clear about what I’m talking about. I’m making valid arguements and your still stuck on things that are none existent... I have disclosed the cars I’m referring to.

please show me a c63 for 12k please. I want to see it. It is a broad statement to make is what I’m getting at. Just to say high mileage c63s in that price range. Well a lot of factors play into it. Accident history number of owners also play roles on value. Out by me I can’t find one for under 20k. I realize that’s list but the value even on Kelly blue book warrants around that. The guy who sold his for 17k with mods in my opinion sold it cheap. I would have stripped the car and sold the mods. Mods don’t make the car more valuable and to some they would look away from modded examples. To some it’s a bargain already has what that person wants. I think he could have gotten more stripping the car to stock and selling the parts. Just my opinion. I think if your looking for a good well taken care of example, low number of owners great condition, un molested, no accidents, great options including p and p or p30 but high mileage, I think you will be hard pressed to find one for as low as you are saying. The one that was sold for 17k was a nice looking one and taken care of. That was a steal in my opinion with head bolts already being done. I think a rarity not common to find.

Yeah. I sold it a little cheap. I have a baby due in 3 weeks and didn’t have time to take the LTHs off. I would have made maybe $1000 on headers (afterbuying used stock parts) and $1000 more on the car, but the amount of work was not worth it to me. Plus moving to Japan in March. I miss the car very much but I needed it gone. And when a knowledgeable enthusiast in my car club made and offer, I knew it was going to a good, responsible home and worked out a deal.

glad for you. It was a very nice car. Good mod choices and well taken care of. Good luck over seas. Hope to see you back on here again.

Nice car, I’m thinking about entering the m156 game again but for track use only but I’m still till this day unsure how my FBO e55 would do against a FBO c63 on a 40-50mph roll. Seems like it’s a good race but not much info on YouTube

So what you're saying is that YOU can't seem to find an owner willing to sell you their car for a lowball price when you want to buy it. Why don't you sell your old e55 for 8k? I'm sure the w204 c63 will hit 12k, but it's not right now in the condition that you want it in....

Well for starters my car came up here for a comparison in terms of performance. no I’m saying that owners are overpricing their cars and eventually sell it for less then what they are asking for which is normal. Has nothing to do with low balling, it’s strictly on what they are truly worth. The problem I realize with these comments is, I just don’t think anyone is qualified enough here to comment on what the market should be including myself. My estimate was 12-18k for high mileage w204’s. But I have been seeing some proper priced c63’s but the market definitely has the w204 getting close to my estimate. And with w205’s being in the low 30’s and high 20’s. I just don’t see how w204’s will keep it over the 20’s in the near future.

😂 yes I really want to know as well. You keep pulling these estimates out your rear End. Still waiting to see that 12k c63 too. I think you said it best already. You are not qualified to be making these estimates. let’s just leave it at that huh.

omg man go on cargurus for Pete’s sake.... they all over lol this is exactly what I’m talking about, I feel like I’m the only one who is watching this market. do I really have to go on and post links for u guys. It’s obvious that there are many c63’s in the ball park I brought up. I can confidently say that w205’s are in the low 30’s and high 20’s I can bet my life on it. Check online because I have.

I tried to post but it will revert to c300’s so if you search 2012-2014 all nation you will easily find out the 12’s 13’s are under 30k and around 30-34k and that’s p31. I’ve seen multiple p31’s clean title even one owner for low 30’s. I always tell people on this forum please research before you comment. I’ve been posting hardcore facts that are support by various websites posting cars for sale. There have been cars for sale already for 13-15k with very high mileage private owners. And my arguement is that if they want to sell they usually will sell for less then their asking price. You gotta go by the market and not by your enthusiasm for the m156 because it’s altering judgement in pricing. Here for the basics of selling and buying smh....If someone puts a 130k+ c63 2008-2009
for 15k that’s asking, I can bet my life that most owners never get what they ask for. So most cars will sell for at least 1-2k less then asking. But here again, the c63 love will have everyone saying anything they can to stick up for the brand. This theory goes for even e55 and practically every person who sells a car. The quote of the day “you never get what you ask for”.

there are too c63’s with over 130k for 12k and 13k for sale already on cargurus. We also had a member selling on fb selling one for 15k with lower miles then 130k. Take the time go and check before you comment because im not qualified but now I’m giving u links to people who are qualified, the postings don’t lie. And before u make excuses those prices are the price I never clarified the conditions of the car I’m telling everyone where the bottom is and where the top is. Your just playing around in circles. Your more stuck on my claim of 12-13k(supported by car listings currently on cargurus and others) then the whole topic of this discussion which was the rate on which 204’a and 205’s are depreciating. Your comments are irrelevant to the convo, your trolling.

Wow wow wow. First off buddy get your facts straight. A w205 is not a 12,13,14 car. It’s a compleatly different engine and body. Made after 15. Some w205 are 15 but you can tell the difference. So I really don’t think you are qualified to talk about these cars period when you don’t even know that the facelift is still a w204. Just saying. Also you have not posted links you are spouting off at the mouth giving false information.
