Hey guys!
The third and final baseline test is done! Took the car out on the Autobahn and did some acceleration runs.
100-200 km/h (62-124 mph): 9.8 seconds
100-250 km/h (62-155 mph): 20.8 seconds
Starting the weight reduction process this week by removing the rear seats.
Everything will be filmed and all the removed parts will be weighed.
Canīt wait to start!!

Hey guys!
First step towards a lighter car is done!
I removed the rear seats today and saved pretty much exactly 50.5 lb!
Next up will probably be the rear sunshade removal.

Oh man you are not kidding! I have been driving around a bit today and couldnīt stop grinning and flooring the car haha
There is more tire noise as well and not everyone would like that I guess, but I do enjoy that as well a bit. You are overall not as isolated from the driving experience anymore.
Didnīt quite expect that since I was driving with the rear seats folded down anyway, but itīs still a noticeable change over that.

Nice build! I have the rear seats removed from my coupe but i get rear seat detached notification on my dash every time i turn the car on that i have to clear. Does anyone know a way around that ?

I wonder if you can get a small piece of metal that is the same diameter as the rear seat rod and stick it in the latch to trick it. Just a rudimentary thought I had...

I have a new update for you guys!!
Sorry that it has been a while, but the build is back on track now.
Today I have installed lovely new wheels on the C63 which not only look better but they actually saved a decent amount of weight as well.
You can check out the details here:
I went for OZ Leggera HLT in 19x8.5 at the front and 19x9 in the rear. Would have loved to go 9.5 Inch wide in the rear but sadly these wheels donīt fit over the P30 brake calipers. So the regular rear calipers and a 9.5 Inch wide wheel might be a possible upgrade for the future.
In the past weeks I have also been busy trying to create a C63 Sound mod from Scratch based on samples that I have recorded from the car. Itīs far from finished, but if there are any gamers here then you might find this preview interesting:
Anyway this is it for today. I will now do a new AMG episode every Monday so updates should come a bit more regular from here on out.

Another week went by and a little bit more weight got saved!
I made some custom Center caps for the OZ wheels, since it was impossible to find a Mercedes cap in the right size. Took a few hours with the Dremel and some patience but it turned out pretty nice.
Also removed more stuff from the trunk.
And the big news is that I ordered a Boca carbon fibre hood!! Really looking forward to installing that one

Thank you!!
I believe the hood should save at least 10 kg (roughly 22 lbs), if not a little more. It definitely does feel very heavy when you try to move it. Quite curious to see how much weight can be saved there!
I hope that the part will arrive in a few weeks, and then I can tell you guys more

Hmm are you sure about that? The reason that I ask is that OZ sells the 9.5 Inch wide rim for the regular C63. I assumed that they didnīt fit because of a difference in caliper size.
But then again, it might have just been an error on their side.

Another Monday and I have a new update for you guys!
Quite a lot of stuff has been done today!
I removed the rear airbags, seatbelts, sunshade and the big speaker on the rear deck! Would have needed 12.5 kg of savings to break through the 50 kg barrier, but I just landed short of that with 11.7 kg.
Still very happy with the progress though, I now have saved 49.2 kg (108.5 lbs) total, and apart from the rear seat most of that is just small stuff that has been removed.
The big ticket items (sunroof, carbon hood and especially seats!!) are still to come! I am now very confident that I will reach my minimum target of 100 kg and I might even get to the 150+ kg that I dreamed of when I first started this.
Next monday I will remove the speakers from the doors and the rear electric window motors which will be the last "small" parts that I can remove. The rest of the weight saving will have to come from replacing parts.
Speaking of replacing parts, has anyone here saved any weight by installing a different suspension? I would like to go aftermarket anyway since I would like to lower the car just a little bit (maybe half an inch) and the stock P30 setup is a tad too firm for my taste. So I was hoping that I could maybe save another 1.5 kg per corner at least?
I also have ordered front and rear strut braces which will come in handy to give the chassis some extra rigidity.
Anyway, here is todayīs episode, see you guys in a week:

I like where you're going but question, why are you even bothering keeping the rear trim? Since you lost the sunshade, just curious why you want the panel trim. IF you're dropping the seats and airbags, why keep it? You could lose all the side trim and even probably remove the rear door panels in their entirety. That should get you some good savings...

absolutely positive that all base, P30, P31, and P61 calipers are the same except for color.

There more important answer though is that I donīt really like the naked metal look for the interieur. I obviously wouldnīt notice it when I drive but for some reason I just prefer it when there is a little bit of trim there.
