Just pick up a 2012 C63 Sedan, What mods first ??
Just picked up a 2012 C63 with 39,000. Car has good maintenace records, no accidents and no issues. First I want to be sure it is rock solid before adding any power. Are there any items I should replace/inspect off the bat that are a known weakness? Are lifters and cam wear an issue at 39k for a 2012? Are there any areas I should take a look at ?
Thanks !
Thanks !

2014 C63 AMG 507 sedan
Congratulations
Nice pick up. Like AMGonfire said, the 2012+ cars are pretty solid as long as the maintenance was followed.
Let the mods start! Here’s the typical path, if you search the wealth of information here:
Clear side markers
ROW air box with new filters
Weistec oil air separator
springs or coilovers
wheel spacers
tune
It’s a slippery slope. Have fun!

yes ! Me and the search function don’t get along at times... any tips ? I paid $29k for it sight unseen which I was nervous about but everything checks out. No p31 or lsd but it has really nice black 19s that I’ve never seen. It is getting delivered next week and I will add some pics. I also went with a fidelity bumper to bumper warranty for 12 months for about $2400

Dont need a catch can on a stock-ish car.
Make sure maintenance is A1.
1. Tune - will yield biggest gains for $
2. Secondary cat delete or Res delete - Great Sound for $
3. Headers - Expensive but oh so worth it
4. KW V3s - Feels like the car lost 1000lbs
5. LSD

Good stuff thanks for the info. I’m sure this has been beatin to death elsewhere but who has the latest and greatest tune for 93 gas ? Is there an interface that allows changing of tunes or only the send out entire ecm for a flash option ? In the diesel world I have a bunch of tunes to load in at any time from a hand held device and also some that are shift on the fly. I suppose the only need for SOTF in this application would be for 93,E85 and maybe for nitrous ? Maybe I’m way off here not a gas guy !

After being let down 3 times by the transport company (my fault for going with cheapest bid) I ended up making the 5 hour drive to Pittsburgh to get the vehicle. It was a good opportunity to get acquainted with the new ride on the 330 mile trip back, unfortunately with temps below 30 F I couldn't exactly get into it ! After getting home and cleaning all the salt off of her (breaks my heart) I went for a more spirited drive with temps above 40 back in NJ. Whoa, I love this thing ! The power is extremely refined, linear and predictable especially since I'm used to lag with turbocharged vehicles. The MCT is better than I expected as far as shift quality and speed. I was expecting less after reading some posts on here. I have a million questions about this car but ill do my research first and play with the search function. 2012 with 39k on the clock, appear to be replica 19" 507 wheels with pirelli cinturato p1 plus , 235/35R19 front and 265/30R19 rear. Cant find much on these tires maybe they are older model? Cant tell how well they grip as the temps here are in the low 40s. Even though the rears only measure .23" taller than stock they really dont leave much room in the wells, maybe these replica wheels have a different offset, ill have to check. Anyway cant wait to start modding and here are some pics!

I know nothing about Fidelity , but I'd make sure your modifications don't nullify your extended warranty coverage.
By the way, love the look of your car!

Down in southern New Jersey about 10 minutes from Atco Raceway. Is there a section on here with events/meets ? Would love to meet up with some other C63s at Atco once the weather breaks .

Anyone know what the LED strip along top of the tail lights is for? For some reason only the left side lights when the fog lights are off.

That should be the single rear fog. There should be a button to the left of the lights control dial which toggles the rear fog. On my W212, it's integrated into the dial. You can pull the dial outward when it's not on an auto setting which activates the single rear fog.

Great price on a good car if everything checked out. Heard Fidelity is one of the better 3rd party ins. They don't cover CA, so I purchase Infinite...will see in time if coverage is good. Is your Powerstoke your daily/work rig? Had a 01 F350 and 03 F250 in the past, great trucks, but now running a 03 Duramax. Welcome to the club.

Rear red fog light lol that’s a new one. Makes sense though it’s only on when the front fogs are off. Thanks !

Went through a few transmissions with the 7.3 but engine was solid. Bought the 2003 6.6L Duramax last year with 19k miles from original owner, if not for the great deal would of bought another Powerstoke. Those original 507 wheels? Those are the wheels I'm looking for.
