Who has front calipers this color and why? |
Typically that means car is equipped with CCB's. Not an option on this car, however.

Likely someone just got them re anodized or powder coated in that colour, and heatproof AMG label applied |
Yeah and they look terrible. Especially the straight decals rather than curved. Don’t be that guy. Doubt it’s even on an AMG. |
Years ago, I came across a company that sells CCB for a C63 or E63, that replaces the two-piece steel rotors. The CCB weren't cheap.
This looks like someone did just that. |
Doesn't really have that POP that you look for in calipers you know?
|
BLK hit the nail... Those calipers are repainted that nasty champagne color. The straight AMG Decal is a dead give away of aftermarket painting. The rotors are from Evosport as well. Previous owner probably painted them when he did a brake job.

my stock PFL calipers had straight amg logos. I thought the FL were curved. I think the OP’s posted calipers are heat discolored. Someone else on these forums posted that the silver ones turn that color after repeated track use. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...196e982cf.jpeg |
I'm surprised at you guys. These are the original calipers (and decal) on my 2009 C63 and the natural color is a result of the heat soak after threshhold on-track braking with after-market rotors and pads. Fronts only, almost all the braking on these cars is in the front. I like the color and most of my car guys wonder why I haven't "painted" the rears. Still mis-matched with the rears but a good conversation piece in the meantime. Use those brakes!!

Red calipers discolor too. But they turn darker and the pattern is not uniform (splotchy). The clearcoat usually burns in the area first. Been there thanks. |

I seen the calipers on a C63 actually turn a bronze color from track use.
|
Mine were like that. Take car polish paste and rub them and the original bright silver colour comes out obviously depending on how badly the clear coat has been discoloured from the heat and brake dust but those look saveable.
