Thread bolt pattern question
Hi.
The other night while driving home I noticed the car was vibrating a bit so I pulled over on the highway to have a look. As it turned out the two lugs on the rear wheel were almost falling off while the other ones weren't as tight. I then proceeded to tighten them and drove the car home cautiously.
This morning I took one of the lugs off for inspection and it reads 14x1.25 (surely this cannot be right). The lugs are aftermarket which were used by a tyre shop to fit my HRE which seems odd to me because from my understanding it should be 14x1.5
Can someone please clarify so that I can take these lugs back to the tyre shop and shove it up their ***.
Thank you.

They likely never noticed their error installing the miss-matched lug bolts by overpowering them with an impact wrench. Using an impact wrench to install wheels is a no-no especially on HREs but try to tell a tire shop that.
My guess is that along with the correct size lug bolts M14x1.5 you will now need new hubs as the threads in your hubs will be distorted by the miss-matched thread size and pitch of the M14x1.25. This is a safety issue now. The hubs will need to be changed as well as the lug bolts. Get an independent inspection first from a trusted mechanic at a trusted MB dealership or a reputed Indy.
