Hey Guys,

I have a 2013 with Weistec tune and headers. Car has some odd gauge readings. At idle, water temp goes up too 201 or in heavy traffic. Temps go up and down. Sometimes the reading doesn’t make sense. Not sure if it’s a sensor and or a thermostat issue? Any help would be appreciated. Posted a pic below just sitting in idle.

Ill never understand the huge temperature swings this car has. Highway driving is usually the same during winter and summer but city driving is another story. During winter months the oil temp is always higher then the summer months

My take on why the engine temps go up during in city driving is because our car needs high airflow hence the lower temps during highway and spirited driving. In city stop and go doesn’t offer high air flow soo.... high but normal temps.

Its a big motor that puts off a lot of heat in a fairly small package. Sitting at a stop light behind other hot exhausts makes things hotter. The other day I had my window open at a light and it felt like a heat wave, but it was the car hahaha. I even told my girl, Dang its hot!:rolf:

I insulated my garage doors because it gets hot in Texas only to realize I was just trapping the heat in. 😂

You would have alleviated your worry much quicker if you did a search first and realized immediately that it's normal.

Just sayin'...

FYI: ceramic coated headers seemed to have helped my oil temps a lot. They used to run into the high 110c then radiator would turn on, during bumper-bump r traffic.

Havent heard my radiator turn on since the header install
