Starting a dedicated thread for anybody who is interested in running E85 on their M156.

I have up on the e85 kit. The injectors I had are 630cc and not 550 like I thought. I was getting negative 40 fuel trims and just gave up and took the kit off

I bought the kit used with injectors. It's called eflexfuel kit and looks exactly like vrp kit

with a requirement of 25-35% fuel flow rate you'll need more than a 550cc injector. what injectors were they?
edit: saw your other post. my response, "i have the same kit and injectors...also OE Tune...should have the kit installed today or tomorrow. can report back with my fuel trims. my car prior to this kit was +15 long term trims."

What part number you got on your injectors. Dont forget when you are not on e85 that 630cc is major overkill

trims are all over the place, drivability is fine so far. ECU is still adapting...these photos are from the flex fuel kit with bigger injectors on 91 octane and OE 91 octane map. filled up from 1/4 tank with E85....car is sooooooo fast. hahahahahaha I love it.
also installed unmodified airboxes and new filters. throttle response is more accurate now. can't say it's faster or slower with unmodified airboxes but throttle response is better. edit: after a bit more driving, drivability improved greatly and trims look much better. car and engine are real fast on OE's tune after the ECU made adjustments to the larger injectors. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...56ddc16aea.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...1f9a2485c1.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...7948c7f6d8.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...7bac2c0a86.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5d99d078d7.png

no misfires, only upon first start with new kit, it was missing horribly. i reset my ecu to jump start the ECU to begin trim adjustments...idle isn't always the best and can hunt at times, but isn't unbearable. no retune, ECU can adjust trims for the most part. won't be perfect, but it works.
runs great...anything more than 20% throttle with current mixture of E60 feels awesome and easily on a 91 octane tune is making 15-25hp more. edit: after a bit more driving, all previous reported issues are gone. engine runs great and drivability is better than ever. trims look good as well for running larger injectors.

Using this topic now, think is suitable.
2 days ago i was on dyno and the car got 555Ps and 680Nm @ 24temp., i think this is a bit too high with my mods, or is that possible? And is the afr (pic) good? Mods: primar cats removed, agency pulley, E85 kit and map from EC (no E85 map, cuz stock injectors but very aggressive map, E60+ is suggested ). Stock wheels 18" and is a estate 2012 mct. The new c63s stock limo. is slower in a race. i drive now 7,8-8,1 100-200km/h. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...833d74a0a1.jpg

whats your injector duty cycle with the stock injectors? with the 600cc's i'm waaaaaaay safe. haven't monitored til redline, but i'd assume its still way below 80%
|
Does anyone know what adapters we need on Ebay to connect stock wires to these injectors?
I'm going to have a dedicated e85 tune with bigger injectors. |
You'll need EV1 connectors, they're cheap on Amazon, and qualify for prime...will you be reaching out to OE for a custom tune?
and update for me...today ambient air temps are 74-79F...my long term trims are closer to zero at -7 and -15....short term trims are 0 to -2...so we're right on the mark. yesterday it was much cooler. |
if you're going to have a dedicated E85 tune without use of flex fuel computer...i'd highly advise against this...from pump to pump you cannot guarantee the quality of fuel and you'd be setting yourself up for issues. i have a friend who blew his B8.5 Audi S4 engine running a dedicated E85 tune without flex fuel computer. Additionally ethanol absorbs water from the air, which makes it risky.

yikes....cool...glad I upgraded my injectors then.

Everyone told my i can run e85 with stock injectors without headers 😣 did you saw my dyno and the lambda? Thought this afr is good. |
I thought VRPSpeed will sell you the necessary harnesses? I think you gotta make your own b/c I was told by 5-0 motorsport that connection is "proprietary" from Bosh to AMG...

Your stressing out the stock injectors. They shouldn’t be over 80% at wot. At that rate your going to burn them out. Your fully Catless now. Doesn’t matter headers or not

these are the correct injectors. EV-1 style 600cc is what you need for N/A application. |

Will this work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074F3JJ3J..._GJT.CbB0NJS0Q I have pins if you need as I ordered 50 because I cut off the wrong end during my initial install. Connector to OEM harness. Youre on stock exhaust from what I remember. You don’t need injectors. Just run stock injectors with kit. What’s your mods again?
Right now I'm carbon intake,82mm TB second cat delete. Made 460whp on ms100. Here is the injector I have. Not really sure what it is because tuners use 997 injectors and some off the shelf Bosch a d wont share part numbers with anyone. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...39f848ab96.jpg |

you won't be able to find a solution like that, but you can build an adapter harness using the parts below. For ease of use, you may want to look for shorter EV1 connectors than the one's I have listed here. The ones I have listed barely fit under the fuel rail. I rotated the injectors to the side to clip them in, then rotated back to center. I don't believe TE sells direct to consumers, so you'll have have to search online for who offers these. Amazon has them and eBay. Shop around and confirm the retailer actually can fill the order. I ordered pins on Amazon. For anybody who has a flexfuel kit, they came with 10 of the plugs so you might be able to source 4 pairs from folks the forums as they'll have no need for them.

I left mine near the fuel rail but was getting insane temps on the app and I think it was dumping to much fuel because of it. |

I’m running an EFlexfuel kit with Bosch 550cc (#62379) with EV to MLK adapters (from finjector.com) with EC V7 tuned for 91 octane for about 6 months (8500miles)
Been filling up with full E85 since the conversion, haven’t switched back to pump yet. App reading about 75-80% ethanol consistently per fill up LTFTs for me are floating around -15 to -17 Injector duty cycle maxing out around 72% Mods are full cat deletes, resonator delete, double X-pipe, k&n drop in filters and lightweight battery (odyssey PC925) Power gained in the midrange is very noticeable! |
Flow rates @ 43.5 psi / 3 bar
56.8 lb per hour 429.2 G per min. (N-Heptane) 596.9 cc per min 12,00 Ohm resistance Bosch # 0280158123 / 62379 Midrange is the most noticable area where power has been gained. Lost 5-7 mpg across the board though at E60 mixture...2nd tank is registering E75. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...e6e0008bb3.jpg |
