MBWorld group buy would get the price down I’d think?

Ya to me 3500 - 4k no brainer, 6k just not worth it to me, 5k probably still not unless they made a lot of power. I can get the stock cams for 2k for the set, so that leaves 4k which is half way to a supercharger that gives you much more bang for the buck. 6k is almost competing with a blower and the gains are small comparatively.

Pricing is one thing, but tuning is another road bump if the end user isn’t going to datalog and expect and off the shelf tune to work correctly...
These videos are confusing. So a completely stock car with these cams and tuning makes 425 whp... be nice if they released the cam specs.

I think buried in one of the videos - there are too many for me to keep track of anymore - the cams made 45whp.

I was looking into cams from the company that made MHP’s and DIME racing... They gave me all the specs on their cams
A set of our Billet Steel cams for the M-156, is $4,400.00 + Shipping
Here's the 2 options I would look at.
H68475-67440: Intake 228@.050" with .475" Lobe Lift. Exhaust 224@.050" with .440" lobe Lift.
H69475-68475: Intake 232@.050" with .475" Lobe Lift. Exhaust 229@.050" with .475" lobe Lift.
We have gone as big as 255@.050" with .500" lift, but I think that required a lot of other changes to the engine.
From what I'm told, they're drop-in, but I would check to make sure the springs can handle the .475" lift. I don't really trust the guys that I was working with. They never gave me any power numbers, but they seem to like the second option better for the Normally Aspirated engines.

you can the lift on these are way more aggressive than stock. Just no real world feedback since dime wanted 8k+

At 4 grand they’ll probably get 10-15 pre-orders just from here. I know I would be one.
At 5? Mehhhhhh...

basically a drop in stage 1 cam...
a proper camshaft should require remapping of valve timing to maximize efficiency. with this in mind, he'll be limited on lift and duration of the camshaft if following the same intake and exhaust timing mappings.

Yeah Im curious now. He wants it to be bolt on ready but also make power, which will still require tuning (probably custom). So not quite drop in and go.

Our cams have been out for a while now

What was the powerband on each of the cams? Why not .550" or .600" of lift?

That's understandable. Springs, and retainers, perhaps the shims under the spring. I saw a lift test on the stock springs SLS and C63. Intake lifts to 12mm and exhaust lifts to 11mm. The exhaust had plenty of clearance at it's max lift. The intake had several mm available before the coils collided, maybe 3 or 4mm.

Also for the .550" or .600" lift one will need to do clearance on the head for the camshaft to rotate. CNC Heads provides this service for a few hundred. Just something worth looking at.

No issue with longer valves. How much additional lift can we obtain going to a smaller base circle on the stock cam cores? Does anyone know if the valve reliefs are the same on the C63, SLS vs Weistec and other pistons?
