Question Removing these things without damage?

Good evening.

As you can see in the attached picture, the previous owner of this car was a Freemason.
To the left of the license plate are metal-ish badges. I can't pull them off.

I believe that they are glued on somehow. My question is, how can I remove these without damaging the paint on the car? I've only thought of using fishing line or a heat gun, but, I don't own a heat gun.
What can I do?

Thanks
- Nate

Dental floss or light fishing line and just work it back and forth behind the emblem, it will cut through the foam adhesive without any damage to the paint, then you can just work off the remaining adhesive with your fingers, a little heat will help.

A heat gun is fairly inexpensive, and saves a bunch of time cleaning up the adhesive. Sometimes you get lucky and with the right amount of heat, the two sided tape peels up with the badge. I own the older model of this one:
Wagner Heat Gun Wagner Heat Gun
. I would definitely recommend getting one. They've come in handy more times than I can count. Anyways, like roadkillrob said, I would use light fishing line paired with a heat gun. I've found dental floss does not work. If you really want to remove the adhesive quickly and not deal with using goo-gone, get one of these:
3M Eraser Wheel 3M Eraser Wheel
. Otherwise, I use Goo Gone remove the adhesive left behind by the tape (which is a major PITA btw):
Goo-Gone Adhesive Remover Goo-Gone Adhesive Remover
. Hope this helps.

WD-40 will work as well, spray and let it soak for 10-15 min

They’re attached by magic. They can’t be removed without getting cursed, sorry.

Use one of these to clean up the gunk left behind.

I used the exact same one on my C when I removed that @#$%ing factory spoiler and all the gunk that was left behind came off like magic.

It makes a bloody mess, but it got everything off with relative ease and the use of a drill. Didn't even harm the paint one bit.
