Need Opinion on Trading Base C63 for 507 Edition C63

Hi all,

My first post on the forum but I have been on here quite a bit. I really need help because I at a bit of a loss with a decision. I currently have 2012 C63 which I purchased last year for $31,500. I currently am looking at a potential trade up to a 507 edition but I’m not sure it’s worth it.

For perspective sake the 507 I am looking at was a Canadian car listed for $39,950 with 67k miles and the LSD included. As looks go it is completely stock. My car has 61k miles (14k in a year since I bought it haha) but has extra “mods” such as full carbon front and rear diffusers, carbon ducktail spoiler, secondary cat and res delete, and all chrome minus badges wrapped gloss black. If I keep mine I am planning to get headers and a tune in the coming months but if I switched I would obviously have to wait. Both cars are black 4 doors. Any options welcome and appreciated!

So you want to pay more for a car with higher miles and lacking the cosmetic mods that you’ll have to do all over again? Pass.

Thats kind of where my head is at. Part of me thinks I should focus on continuing my own build process but on the other hand are the 507 upgrades (mainly pistons) worth it. I am not planing on forced induction and as far as the hood and LSD goes I work for MB so I get crazy deals on parts.

Not worth it. Paint your calipers and get a tune.

Mine are factory red as well, pic angle just not showing it. Appreciate the helpful feedback as well!

I almost fell into this trap as well although more dramatic going from a ‘09 PFL P30 to 507. Anyways, I guess if you’ve got the financial means do whatever you want and makes you happy. If the 507 is calling you and you want to talk about your engine internals ok. But if you’ve got a solid car now that you’re happily modding, I would also say stick with it. If you work for MB and get deals, throw those pistons in your current ride. And just buy the Mode Carbon hood.

Definitely leaning towards keeping mine at the moment, just wanted to see what everyone else’s thoughts were. As far as Mode Carbon goes however I am extremely unhappy with them as I have been waiting over 9 months for the actual rear diffuser I ordered. They gave me a different/cheaper one for free while I wait as mine has been “under production” this whole time.

I'd keep the current vehicle and continue modification. Especially considering the 507 is higher mileage and, aside from 507, very similarly optioned.

I agree with this. Plus, why would you want to go from a car with no front plate to a car with a front plate?

Thank you for pointing that out. Honestly didn’t even think to look for a front plate.

Everything that others have said + add the fact that buying a used car is a crapshoot no matter how careful you are. If yours is solid and reliable, be grateful and carry on.

You have no way of knowing what abuse the 507 has seen... maybe none, maybe a lot.

Stick with the devil you know.

By the way, if for some reason you do decide to move forward with the 507, the PO was on here (VINs match): https://mbworld.org/forums/market/763694

Appreciate all of your responses. Pretty sure I’m going to be sticking with my car for now. I do like the idea of the 507 upgrade but I definitely agree with all of the work I have put in and having no mechanical issues I should stick to working on mine.

Get a set of benzwork headers and call it a day and tune which keeps your o2’s on to set monitor. (Yes you can set monitors fully catless and not get a CEL) easy to pass emissions as well.

I don’t see a point of the 507. Stick with your car. Cheaper to keep her.

Actually, he can take his parts off
Put them on the 507
And have a several year newer car, that's also more rare as a 4dr 507

+ Bragging rights

Its either that or get headers and a tune to give my car more power than a 507 and then later upgrade the internals and add a black series style wide body kit. Even if I sold my car and broke even I’d still be an extra 10k or so out of pocket when I can just use that to keep making mine better. Love the idea of the 507 but not the premium just to brag about having a rarer car that still doesn’t have an official production total.
