Post Camshaft position sensor bolt size?

While changing my camshaft position sensor I dropped the bolt into the engine bay and it is nowhere to be found does anyone know the size/model of the bolt that holds the sensor in?

@markov77 These are special M-B bolts, not standard hardware store items. They are male torx head and aluminum. Using a stainless or carbon steel bolt risks overtorquing and material incompatibility. The front cover if I am not mistaken is magnesium and the cylinder head is aluminum. I wouldn't use a non-OEM fastener in this application.

Try looking in here: M 156.985 - CAMSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER > Mercedes EPC Online > nemigaparts.com
Is it perhaps part #250, but they exist in two different sizes, so I guess you need to choose carefully

I believe all of those fasteners are single use only, would recommend picking up aftermarket bolts such as from 63 motorsports - https://www.63motorsports.com/afterm...hop/amg/m156-1 or picking them up from FCP Euro so you can have a free replacement next time you have to remove them.

edit: I just realized you meant the actual sensor bolts. The ones I linked above are for the cover plate so it won't apply to you.

Depends if it's the right bank or the left bank sensor. If it's the right then it is an aluminium M6 x 12 torx. If it's the left then it is an aluminium M5 x 16 torx. As people have already pointed out, a lot of bolts are single use so you should make sure you get the right one.

thanks for the answers . I did not check the post assumed it was for e350 which is what I have and was able to find the right screws both for sensor camshaft sensors and magnets . I do own a glc 63 s so this info is still good for that car and I ll keep that in mind . Thank you all
