My oil temp fluctuates between 105-120 Celsius, is this normal?

My oil temp fluctuates between 105-120 Celsius, is this normal?
Hi everyone, I have a C63 AMG 2013 and my car´s temperature fluctuates between 105-120Celsius in normal driving without pushing the car. When it reaches 120C it starts descending, I guess the fan kicks in. Is this normal or it is running too hot?. Should I check the oil temp sensor, fan or oil cooler?

Are you referring to oil temp (digital gauge in speedometer)?
Mine stays around 105-106C, but weather here is on the cool side (15-18C)
From what I've seen from other posts, it could be due to hotter climate or driving hard - either?

Quite high i must say.
Mine is going between 96-101 degrees.
As i understand there are some problems with the thermostat, and there is an another one in cars sold in arabia.
check that up!

I have had my car for about 4 months now, for the first 2 months it was running about the same as you, touching 116 degrees on
hard bursts. I got advised to change the oil, which is what i did, it now doesnt go above 106 no matter how hard i push
Id recommend starting there

My car also has low mileage 42,000 km. I will change the oil as you say to see if the temperature cools down

yes, oilquality has a big part in this.
My car when i bought it had 0w-40 castrol edge
i hit quite hig temps, above 110 when driving hard.
Now i run Fuchs Titan GT1 5w-40 and got temps stated in last post i made.

The one i run on, i wrote in the post you quoted 
One of the worst thing one can do is running a fullblown race oil like Motul 300v
They aren´t good for road use.
Trackday yes.
This because they don´t have the additive package needed for 'longterm' usage.
Lubrication is superior though, as long as the oil is 'fresh'.
