JDM C63 Required Octane
I just imported a C63 Wagon from Japan and there is no sticker by the gas tank that says the required octane. The vehicle also did not come with am owner's manual so I can't check that.
Does anyone know if the JDM vehicles were tuned for different octane than the NA/EU ones?

The car will run on 95 octane in Europe / 91 octane in NA without mechanical issues, but with slightly retarded ignition timing and thus power loss.

the firmware's are different for North American (Canada Included) versus ROW vehicles. North American vehicles came with restrictive air boxes whereas the Rest Of World has a higher flow airbox which equates to a 12% difference in fueling if you installed ROW airboxes onto a North American vehicle. this is not seen with ROW vehicles with ROW airboxes. additional ignition timing is delivered as well as the German autobahn videos online do show a greater acceleration in factory state of tune than their North American counterparts. North American cars seem to all have the same shared firmware's regardless of what octane your state carries.
98 RON (Japan) = 93 AKI (US)
104 RON = 100 AKI
In Japan, 101 RON and 103 RON are also carried at some stations.
