Mercedes C-Class Coupe reportedly coming next December, AMG variant due in 2016
Our spies have already caught the Mercedes C-Class Cabrio on multiple occasions but new details are starting to emerge about the C-Class Coupe.
According to Auto Motor und Sport, the two-door model will be introduced next December and feature a more aggressive design which will help to differentiate it from the sedan. The model is also expected to measure approximately 4690mm long and be slightly wider and lower than its predecessor.
Engine options will likely carryover from the sedan so expect a variety of familiar petrol and diesel options including a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 bhp (179 kW) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) torque as well as a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 329 bhp (245 kW) and 354 lb-ft (479 Nm) of torque. An AMG variant is slated for 2016 and it will feature a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that should have outputs of 469 bhp (350 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque as well as 503 bhp (375 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.

Can't wait for this new coupe to come to life and fingers crossed it ends up ticking all the right boxes.
If so I'm happy to wait as long as it takes to get exactly what I'm wanting in a new 205 series AMG coupe

It feels like only a few months ago I took delivery of my C204 coupe but it was the first week of April 2012, we're almost into 2015 now so mid 2016 is not really that far away
The other advantage is that problems are usually sorted out in the first 1 or 2 years of a new model and with most car makes I've noticed the mid life updates are always a great improvement over the initial model release.
If you can't wait or need the vehicle right here and now or it's a company car purchase then fair enough get the sedan now, but if not the future coupe will be worth the wait

Timeline looks like it matches what we already know.
Pic depicted there looks good no doubt the C63 variant will look awesome, the 'A205' convertible variant will be very interesting, looking forward to checking out the C63 version of that closely when it arrives

Anyone holding out for the AMG C63 Coupe? Mules are out and word is the C-Class coupe and the AMG will be unveiled in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
It looks like it's going to be styled very similarly to the S-class Coupe, but with more defining features. With deliveries of the W205 C63 sedan starting in March (or June?) I'm tempted to hold out a bit longer for the coupe because I think it'll look stunning.

That's the trend started by the latest A Class and may very well continue on the new 205 series C coupes as well, who knows but hopefully not.
Agree with you I too love the all glass roof and couldn't care less about the little extra weight penalty or cost to have it

I'm waiting for the C63 coupe, or the GT-S and am hopeful that the US version of the C63C would make the pano roof optional as I HATE it. Wishing for an all carbon fiber roof option.
P.S. What's with the "Bangle Butt"?

I'd like to see some tasteful fender flares. Nothin over the top. Just nicely blended like BMW Ms. MB could easily do the same without having to go full Black Series. Just my $.02.

This coupe will be amazing... I can't wait to see what it looks like. If it's like a smaller version of the S Coupe, I would buy it...
I haven't been excited about MB models in the past 6-8 years. I think they went backwards on the looks on some, especially the SL-class. They hit a peak in looks in early to mid 2000's.
But the new S's and C's coming up are looking nice...
