From the Introduction into Service Manual:
Exhaust system
The standalone AMG exhaust system is a twin-pipe system over its entire length with two catalytic converters installed directly on the engine and two on the underfloor. Two individual rear mufflers are installed behind the emissions treatment system to reduce noise emissions.
Exhaust flaps
Controlled exhaust flaps can be installed optionally as special equipment. The rear mufflers each feature an exhaust flap which, depending on the power request of the driver and the engine speed, are operated electrically and on a map-controlled basis by the engine control unit using two actuator motors. This technology resolves the conflict of aims in combining the emotional sound experience of a sporty driving style with restrained noise development under partial load conditions. The sound design has succeeded in producing the perfect synthesis of tangible dynamics and the typical Mercedes understatement. The engine sound remains pleasantly inconspicuous, and nuisance frequencies are effectively eliminated.
Did that help? I'm not sure it did.

Mercedes Benz GLK350 2012
from AMG Retail specialist with Mercedes-Benz AMG
Hello,
The C63 & C63 S comes standard with a Dynamic Exhaust System that has:
- 1 computer controlled flap that acts as a cross over between the two banks ofexhaust
- it is run by the engine controller and varies the opening/closing of thevalve based on throttle, mode and other factors.
C63 & C63 S optionally have the U78 - AMG Performance Exhaust System thathas:
- 3 computer controlled flaps (the one from the standard system and one on eachtail pipe)
- it is run by the engine controller and modes, etc
----> however there is also a button on the center console that the customercan turn on/off which modifies the exhaust note similar to the new GT.

Congrats on the S. I built my self a C63 for fun. It ended up being only 2000 dollars cheaper than the S I ordered lol

So yesterday at the Edmonton auto show I saw another sales manager from my dealership. I talked to him about the planned delivery dates, and he reconfirmed what my sales manager said. The planned delivery date given is the date it's supposed to arrive on the east coast aka Toronto. After that CN provides MB with a new delivery date, and the car should be here within a week or two after that. So from the looks of it I'll have my car near the end of April or beginning of May.

I called my salesman yesterday, he was telling me that their dealership received a top 15 award yesterday. He spoke with one of the regional managers and expressed his frustrations we me not having an allocation. Apparently the regional manager took pictures of the order and is supposed to have some concrete answers by Tuesday. If I don't have a build date/ allocation by the end of month I am going to have to look for a different car.

And they're not too far from you either. Just let me know if you'd like to explore that route.

MBUSA Willam Vetter said this on Private Lounge today
"What is currently on the website is not the certification weight which is still pending from the govt...why typically the difference is negligible and has do with fluid weight....as soon as the cert weight is confirmed it will be populated on the site."
So that weight on MBUSA.com isn't correct. Thats some good news.
