AMG Driver's Package
So what's that package all about? most reviewers are mentioning about that package that I couldn't find anymore details about it. They say the top speed can increase from 250 KM/H to 290 KM/H. I went to my dealer today to add that package to my configuration but he didn't know what im talking about and he asked if I knew the code number and unfortunately my information was limited:nix::nix:
Does anybody know the code number of AMG Driver's Package please? Is there anything else included in the package other than increasing the top speed? |

I believe it's the 'S' in different markets they're marketed differently.
C63 > C63 S aka AMG Driver's package. |
I really wish you guys where right.
If you went to MB UK or MB German and configure C63S there is an option called AMG Driver's Package. Its also mentioned in Mercedes-AMG (just scroll down under specification) http://www.mercedes-amg.com/c63s.php?lang=eng GTspirit mentioned it (2nd paragraph last sentence) http://www.gtspirit.com/2015/02/25/2...c-63-s-review/ I just double checked my configuration (C63 S) and the top speed is 250 KM/M not 290. Edit: Nevermind, I just saw the USA configuration of C63/C63S and its indeed increase the top speed from 155 to 180 if you option for S model. Im not sure why my S model have 250KM/H then. Does anyone know the code of AMG Driver's Package? |

Opting for the AMG Driver's Package gives the driver a top speed of 290 km/h (280 km/h for the Estate), together with the chance to join a driver training session at the AMG Driving Academy. US C63 S: 290 km/h is standard (estate: 280 km/h) |

Code: 250 US C63 S: 290 km/h is standard (estate: 280 km/h) Looks like the AMG Driver's Package only increase the top speed and give you a chance to join AMG driving academy Looks like ill skip this option because ill definitely tune the C63 :zoom: |
From what I understand, the AMG Driver's Package is different for different models but the main components are:
1. Increasing the speed limit or removing the limiter completely. 2. Access to the AMG Driving Academy. 3. Some come with AMG spoilers etc. Not to be mixed up with the Driver Assistance Package. |

Has anyone driven their C63S to 180 yet? I had an open highway run to 150 mph once and got out of it. I'd like to find someplace to run it to 180!!

I took mine up the A9 between Munich and Nuremberg yesterday and without much difficulty she hit 175mph. There definitely felt like there was more to give but the road wasn’t sufficiently empty to push her further. Nevertheless, absolutely loving this car having joined from the dark side (BM M4). Looking forward to learning more about how to get the best out of the car on these forums! |

AMG Driving Academy
Got my invite in the mail this AM. This month is a bit too booked up but May 2019 would be a perfect fit anywhere in the month. Anyone been and can fill in some background as the phone is call back Monday and the web site is down for updates. I've done some speed trials and a few years of autoX but no real track time so far. Can those that have been clue me in?

Hope this does not add more confusion. My tentative understanding is that C63s's in some countries are limited to 155 unless you get the drivers package (aka Distronic?), but that the U.S. is not one of those countries (UK?). That package is the only performance related option (other than race seats which are a pain in daily driving and ceramic brakes) that I am not getting. I have the radar cruse control, lane departure system, etc. on my wife's Infinity and hate all of it; simply still too much works in progress, too intrusive, and prone to lull you to sleep rather than drive smart.
I hope to know for sure soon if my new C63s in US spec will top 155. I have Euro delivery next week; am putting 3,000 KMs on it for the wear in period; and have my eye on a 15 mile stretch that is usually unlimited when I cross from Denmark back into Germany before I drop the car of in Bremerhaven. Both my CLK55 and current SLK55 are strong at 145. Put your foot down and they just downshift and go, but the fun ends at 155. |

Drivers assistance Package : these are advanced safety features over standard base car ie blind spot assist, active lane keep assist, distronic plus and active steering assist etc) b. AMG driver's package: Increase of speed limit and training course (which is longer than the 2 hour complimentary one you get in the UK if you buy an AMG). I skipped on this package but with hindsight the longer training may have been helpful and worth the money. |

That has NOTHING to do with the AMG Driver's Package, which increases the speed limit (155mph to 180mph in the US) and gives you a $1895 discount on the AMG Driving Academy (performance driving course) course of your choosing (except for the Drift course). This is a substantial discount, much more than membership in the AMG Private Lounge Forum provides (20% discount). For more info on this discount, see here: https://www.amgacademy.com/program/offer. This discount is ONLY applicable to AMG Driving Academy courses offered in the US (does NOT extend to their international courses). To my knowledge, the AMG Driver's Package is automatically included in all US "S" models, but is an add-on (Code 250) for non "S" models. Hope this helps clear the air a bit. |
on a G63 the AMG drivers package code is Z10 and costs around £2k.
