Smile Did anyone get Distronic Plus?

Just curious, seems like It makes more sense for me to opt for maybe two of the options offered individually instead of the package itself.

Thoughts??

No I didn't, my wife asked for the blind spot assist which I included on my order. I don't know why she asked, I mean its not like she will get to drive it
She just told me she will take it because after all I have to sleep sometime .
I guess I will be sleeping in the car

distronics is more than just blind spot and other piece meals. thus it costs more, and its only as a package deal.

Yes, I did...

I was totally opposed to it until recently to be honest...kind of a purist when it comes to systems that intervene.

That being said, even though I won't use it a lot, the car I'm driving right now has it and it's honestly awesome in the morning when commuting in the stop and go traffic..

What pushed me over the edge in terms of getting it is the new steering assist feature, as well as the host of other new introductions which came with the facelift on the E and the re-design of the S.

I have Distronic in my CLA45 and it's a really cool feature. Works quite well and will bring the complete stop. Tap the gas pedal and it get back up to the preset speed. Also like that the emblem is glass thanks to it.

Did you mean to say that she is saying that when you are sleeping at home, she is gonna sneak out and drive it, so that now you are gonna be sleeping in your car to prevent that? lol

I think she meant, when you go on long trips that you can sleep while she drives. And she can use the distronics...

The C Distronic steers itself too. Completely drives itself in stop and go traffic. Ridiculously awesome.

The CLA/GLA and C DISTRONIC are 2 different systems. The C has the full autonomous breaking with stereo cameras. This is the latest and greatest that MB has to offer. Part of the difference is due to the price point of a CLA/GLA.

What do you mean by full autonomous breaking?

Edit: just saw rage2 answer. Nevermind, and that is indeed pretty awesome.

Thumbs down Distronic at the track

Does anyone have experience with Distronic at the track?
I read somewhere you can't turn it off and it will brake if you get on someone's tail.

Didn't do anything when I ran it at the track, no collision warnings either.

You can turn it off in the main nav. screen menus.
I love it on the interstate in heavy traffic and would not buy a car with out it again.
On Hwy 10 in heavy traffic the speed limit is 70 and traffic moves at 80-85 so I set it at 85 and the interval at the closest and go. It keeps interval but you can accelerate any time you need and when let up it comes back to your setting. It keeps you in lane and works but back in canyons in twisties it fights what you want to do and feels unnatural so don't turn it on there.
It probably saved my butt a couple of times when I had a momentary lapse and someone slammed on brakes ahead of me in heavy multi lane traffic.
