Anyone notice this E63 leak?

I'll be very curious to see how AMG gets an extra 100 HP from our engine and still keeps it reliable enough to offer the full warranty. I hope it does not involve larger turbos with added lag. |

That is some impressive figures... It will definitely be interesting to see how they get that kind of power from the same engine.
Brabus has come out with the c class 600HP and the 650HP (bigger turbos). |
The C63S can already make 600+ HP with only a software tune, but it's quite possible the E63/E63S will have larger turbos.
The 3.0 twin-turbo V6 in the E43 AMG actually uses larger turbos than the C43 AMG, so it's not far-fetched that the E63/E63S will also use larger turbos to accommodate for the HP bump. If the turbos are the same as the C63S, then we may have a factory tune that will push our M177's to the same level as the E63S :y And if the turbos do turn out to be larger, than we may have an option for retrofitting larger factory turbos :D Either way, it's a win-win! I'm excited to see the new E63, it's going to be a monster with 4matic. |
Yep, Chris Harris told us more was planned for this engine. See the 11:03 mark of this video. "...asked them how much power it could produce -- and I kept saying what 650, 700? They just grinned."

This feels like the dawn of a crazy new period of power...
...along with grenaded transmissions. |

They could offer a performance package for the W205 like they did with the W204.
|
I'm not complaining with the numbers but the possibility of the tranny handling all the power scares me...
|
More rumors going around than the iPhone 7 lol
|
Nowadays, FI makes making big power easy. Unfortunately, that means it wouldn't be long before extinction of the art of extracting power from NA engines. IMO, big power from FI engine doesn't excite me as much as seeing 848hp extracted by Ferrari from a N/A 6.3l V12.

It's my understanding that the S trim is basically the performance package re-marketed. |
3.5 seconds is very impressive given the size of the car.

I will always state and hint in a lot of my postings though that for anyone who is not in a hurry and not constantly updating their vehicle to simply hold off and wait till later on the model series life cycle as the best is usually always at the latter part of the model run ;) |
