Mercedes C63 Coupe - The Iridium Silver Thread (PICS/VIDEOS)

So as you will all be aware the best colour for the new C63 Coupe is "obviously" Iridium Silver. :)

IMO the wheels don't do it justice and I personally think you need the silver black contrast to make the look work but the car sounded awesome and it was "just" the standard exhaust. If I were going for an absolute base spec C63 like this one I would not choose silver at all. Brilliant blue or any other dark colour would work a lot better with the silver wheels, window surrounds etc.. To be fair it did look a LOT nicer in the flesh :) |
Those wheels definitely look too small for the car...

They are the base C63 spec 18". I quite like the actual design but the car needs the top option - 19s on the front, 20s on the rear.

Thank you for posting this. I was debating between silver and black wheels on my iridium silver. Now I know that black will look better. The front stripe is interesting.

Yes I like the stripes even if they are a bit frivolous, it's one reason I went with the Edition 1 (although I love the Edition 1 interior!). For me the silver works really well with the contrasting dark greys/blacks and feel the car would not look particularily special without these contrasts.
Attachment 367349 My spec is basically as the video and configurator images, my UK arrival date has just come forward to 31st July :) |
Love that interior

Drove this beauty yesterday, first proper test drive I've had of the coupe (got to play with it for an hour:naughty:) and safe to say: very impressed!

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm getting mine pretty much blind (except a short run in a saloon!)
Notice it didn't have a HUD :) |

Notice it didn't have a HUD :) Although they weren't able to show me, apparently a customers C63 coupe had just arrived (in brilliant blue) a few days before - with a HUD :nix: I guess we won't really know with this HUD issue until the cars start arriving. I mean I did ask MB Manchester in May and they said they would have been able to deliver a coupe with a HUD by August and my dealership still says mine is definitely coming with a HUD. We'll just have to wait, not long now! Also something interesting that people might not have known: when the pano roof is tilted (but not fully opened and retracted back) it automatically raises and lowers depending on the speed to help with aerodynamics and wind noise. Pretty cool little feature |
Very nice Trim, not long to go now :)
|
Trim - has your build date been brought forward at all? You actually seemed to have ordered a week before me but my arrival in port date is now 31st July.

Oh that looks great!
I actually like the 5 spoke wheels - they seem to concave unlike the ones in the sedan! |

Hasn't been brought forward but I was told it might be. It's great that yours was brought forward, you get to enjoy even sooner :) I ordered since November, maybe because yours is an Edition 1?

Well I guess the fact that you ordered all that time ago justifies you getting a HUD reserved! :) I only ordered mine in May. There are a few C63s coupes around in dealerships in the UK, surprised you haven't already got yours.

Bloody hell. I'm not keen on the new key, the old one was so much more compact.
Other than that - Looks awesome in silver, glad I switched from Brilliant Blue. https://scontent-fra3-1.cdninstagram...ODQ1MQ%3D%3D.2 |

I'm still team Selenite, but that looks color and stance looks fantastic. |
Selenite grey is a lovely colour but for me personally it blends in too much as do greys generally imo. My RS6 was Daytona Grey, looked great but I didn't feel it gave the car presence. If it were possible I would have specced the C63 with a bright colour, maybe even Mexico Blue or Sapphire Blue - Brilliant Blue is a bit too dark. Without those choices, and not wanting another white/black car I decided to go with the Silver/Black/Carbon fibre look.
