I'm riding on the stock 18" All-Seasons so that could have something to do with it.

C63 is a completely different suspension setup than the C43. It's comparable to how the M3 has a different setup than the 335i.

Anyone have any comments about the ride quality in the coupe? I've read the coupe is a little bit better than the sedan in terms of ride quality but would like additional comments regarding this.

2017 AMG C63S Coupe, Triumph 675R Daytona, Triumph Explorer.
I drove a few C63 coupe cars before purchasing my C63S and have a few tips if you DONT like your ride firm.

Dont buy the 19/20" wheels, they add to the ride firmness.
Dont buy the performance seats, they are very supportive but not very squishy.

With the standard wheels and seats I found the car to be more "comfortable" on bumpy roads.

I actually like a firmer ride so have both of the above items and I've had passengers comment on its firmness in sport modes. Its actually reminds me of my old Honda S2000, just a lot bigger!

My current winter I* mode has everything at comfort except engine sport, Manual and exhaust sport. I drive mostly UK country B & A Roads which are often very bumpy so I save the firm suspension settings for really smooth roads only.

I own a c63s with performance seats and it is rough even in comfort compared to a Honda Civic.

Sports car suspensions are meant to be rough so if you're in the market for a sports car, then you should probably know that the ride won't be cozy as regular sedans.

I think everyone will have a different opinion. To me, the performance seats are supremely comfortable. I find that in Comfort mode the suspension is pretty good. In fact, I think the car rides better/feels more comfortable than the Tahoe rental I had last week. Sure, the Tahoe was "softer" sprung, except the frame and suspension interaction created a lot of movement even over the littlest of changes in the road. Overall, I thought it was less comfortable, despite most people saying the Tahoe is a great road trip vehicle, etc..

Also, the tires make a big difference. Switching to Pirelli winters made a huge improvement to the car in terms of comfort. I will not be buying Super Sports next time around for summer.

Make sure to test drive one before making any decisions!

Would love to test drive one the only problem is there's not one within 200 miles of me! lol

Ugh.. well you will have to think about what type of person you are. I am in complete disagreement with most of the posts here. The car rides fine in Comfort mode. Someone compared this car to an STI? LOL. I traded an STI in for this car... the STI is 10x harsher than this car even in S++ mode. Actually, the STI rides harder than my race car with 900 lb springs and solid bushings everywhere. This is a dream compared to the STI and quite frankly many sports cars I have owned/driven over the years.

One thing perhaps are the silly stock pressures that the car lists on the door cards. I believe it is around 48psi? Really? That is all about fuel economy... 48psi cold with a tire rated max of 51psi is a joke. Drop them down to the mid 30s cold and that will also dramatically improve the ride quality.

Spent a bit of time in a C63S Estate and my seat of the pants impression, so to speak, was that the ride in Comfort was not too different to my current W204 C63 Estate with 19 inch wheel option. But I had a short drive with suspension set to Sport and it started to get a little unpleasant. Race or whatever the next setting was called was just plain brutal and arguably all but unliveable on most of the roads in my area where poorly repaired pot holes and sudden sharp undulations and ridges are commonplace.
I can't remember what seats were in the C63S I drove but doubt the seats themselves would be able to make much difference to what is really a form of "mechanical" discomfort ie the feeling that the car will just shake itself to bits in no time at all.
I would thoroughly recommend an extended test drive on the roads in your area before committing.

I found my car firm when I first got it, but then found out that the dealers set the PSI for the maximum weight and speed (as determined by the table in the fuel cap). I reduced the pressure to where it should have been and now it's fine. Granted it's no Jaguar XJ, but it feels no stiffer than an M3 to me.

Lowering the pressure also massively improves handling of the car. At the stock pressures, the car would "bounce" around bumps/uneven payment and not really stick.

2016 AMG C63S 2015 Porsche Macan 2014 AMG A45 Edition 1 (sold)
I am living in Macau and the road condition maybe worse than the B road in England. But I do feel my ride was not too bad comparing to my previous A45 which I have to get KW V3 to ease the rough ride.
This is what I have expreienced, at 3rd quarter of 2015 the first batch of C63 have arrived it happens to be my friend's Edition 1 order. I have tried the car and the ride was pretty harsh, quite bouncy like CLA45''s ride quality. In the interior there was noticeable rattling from the carbon dash board. Basically the overal ride and built quailty was not what I have expected and worry about my order!
But when my ride have arrived on January 2016, things was quite different. The ride was alot more forgiving and the interior was well built with no rattling issue...lucky me.
My sales told me factory will often keep on updating and improving throughout production!
Till now 1 year already my ride still good and acceptable, the interior still no rattling issue at all. Even my one year Porsche Macan's interior starting to have rattling noise from sunroof and some from leather seat.
Maybe I am lucky enough to have a well built ride!

In the fuel filler door is a chart. I have the 18 inch wheels and I don't intend on going over 150mph, so I picked the lowest setting of 33/31psi front/rear.

Someone kindly posted the chart here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c43-amg-c...ml#post6453073 (this is for the sedan by the way).

The dealer could well have your car set at the max of 48/45! Should make a big difference to ride and handling.

That's about right then. I think some with 19s may have gone lower, but I don't remember what to.

Wow your not kidding!

My 19/20" are set to 330/290! Which I think is 47/42 psi...

I'm going to adjust and see the difference.

See how you get on. It's always going to be a firm ride though, although I hear the coupe is better.

Does anyone have a picture of the PSI chart for the coupe?

If not, what tire pressures are you all using in the coupe?

Here you go. From a coupe.
Its very VERY rare I have anyone in the back and dont have the car unlimited (or anywhere to get it over 150mph) so on AMG 19/20" run 260 front 250 rear. I find that works well at the moment.

The dealers always fill the tires to max pressure. That's just crazy. I drove the C63S sedan before buying a Coupe. The Coupe has a better ride in C mode, but it's still a bruiser. Try driving diagonally through a drainage ditch in these cars and hang on to your head. I've been very pleased with my Coupe on smooth roads. I'm really glad I don't have to drive it over rough ones.

2018 MB C63S AMG cabriolet -harsh ride on run flat tires

I have a 2018 MB C63S AMG cabriolet. It is a lot of fun to drive but it has run flat tires. I am wondering if taking off the run flat tires and installing Michelin Pilots or some other sticky summer tires would eliminate some of the harshness of the ride. Tire Rack says it will but I would appreciate some feedback. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.
