Transition from Audi RS5 to C63 S Coupé. Need input

I just wanted to see if anyone here made the move from RS5 (or similar model) to C63 S Coupé. I'd love to hear your input. Not looking for anything in particular really. Just wanted to see what your first impression was, and if you've been driving your new car for a while, how would you compare it to RS5.

I'll make another post with proper intro--didn't want this to be my first post, but I'm too eager right now to post about anything else lol

I was very close to trading my C63s in for an RS6. The main reason I didn't was because the RS6 interior and equipment/gadgets felt dated. Not sure how closely linked the RS5 is in that regard though. The C63s is a far more luxurious place to be than anything Audi can offer at the moment, in fact on first impressions that RS6 felt a little cheap compared the the C63s.

As for peformance? RS6 wins hands down, once again not sure how that compares to the RS5 but I would assume the C63s would be on par or maybe quicker than an RS5?

I came from an S4. It was stage 2+ so very quick. i know it was faster then every RS5 i went up against and this car felt 100x more powerful then the s4. I am sure you have that low end with the bigger NA V8 so the bit of turbo lag on this car may feel a bit odd. but once they spool its really something else.
as Imster said the interior is much nicer. the seats are much more comfortable and the controls just seem more natural to use. the only one that got me for a while was the gear shift on the steering column.
the suspension on this car is MUCH stiffer then the S4 however i know that the RS5 had stiffer suspension as well so may not feel that different.
as far as modding while i thought Audi was expensive MB aftermarket is almost ridiculous. i remeber people complaining that APR was cahring too much at 1200 for a flash. and a piggyback was high at 600. now everything is double that!!

I came from an 07 S4 to an 09 C63. C63 was a blast, but something about the Audi was special, maybe because it was the first "nice" car I ever owned, but objectively I think the fit and finish/build quality were better than the C63. The biggest problem with the S4 was that it was grossly underpowered in comparison. The AWD was also a plus in an area with four seasons.

Can't comment on the B8/W205 because I had a B7/W204, but I can't imagine that either of them will be a bummer. That said, if can find a W205 coupe I fit in, I'll have a tough time deciding between an RS5 and C43 as my next car... really want AWD. And despite all of the build quality complaints I'm hearing about the Benz, I really want the C43.

If you feel the RS6 is dated... you would find the RS5 even older - inside and out. Performance wise isn't anywhere near the other RS cars. Maybe the new 2018 model will be.

I test drove one... and the previous gen C63 coupes are better.

I traded in a 15 s4 with stage 2 and a couple other things done to it. I feel the overall interior experience was better. The car was quieter, smoother and easier to use the multimedia system. I haven't put too much time into the c63 yet but I'm sure it will grow on me more.

Perfomance wise I cannot see how the c63 will give me the same feeling as the awd launch of the s4. But I will see when my break in period is done and summer rolls around.

C63 S Coupé
Thank you all for the info and your input.

RS5 was my baby... Not gonna lie. Miss that car so much already. It was my first "nice" car. As much as I loved my Genesis, RS5 was in a different league obviously. I'm waiting for my C63 S Coupé to be transported to me from out of state. I lack the virtue of patience so instead of custom ordering one, found one that closely matched my criteria for one from another state.

Anyhow, when they comes to the technology inside the cabin especially the '14 RS5 did seem a bit outdated even back in 2014. The controls could've been more modern. As I'm in the States, I haven't seen RS5 up close and personal, but if it is anything like the videos I've seen of it, it's one hell of a machine. In any case, I'm quite literally counting the days to when my C63 is here.

PS. What's with mbrace? Should've been called embarrassed instead. Had the dealer activate it before it started its journey across the country to me, but the app (and even their website portal) has been bug-ridden and ultimately nonfunctional.

Congrats on the Benz! Looking forward to photos.

Despite everything I said, I would be 100% dead set on a C43 coupe if I fit...

C63 S Coupé
Well today my new C63 S was delivered. As it was being uploaded, it just hit me how beautiful this car really is! Then I got inside, and it immediately reminded me of inside of an airplane cockpit. So many buttons. So much to learn... So exciting...

Here's a n00b question: I've connected my phone to the car in the phone page under Bluetooth. Phone shows both call & media audio are being sent to the car. But it's a blatant lie! When I play music on my phone, the sound just comes out of the phone speaker. I want to be able to stream music from my phone, a process that has always been extremely easy no matter what car I've driven since 2004 I think.

Edit: figured it out. Had to change the source to Bluetooth under the Media section

Thanks, @mbm6f. It didn't help that the truck driver looked EXACTLY like Santa. I mean the beard & belly & all! My car was the cheapest vehicle on his truck... He had a $400k custom made Rolls Royce, a Porsche 911, a p100d Tesla, and a couple of more... But mine was the prettiest of course Best Christmas gift ever!

I had a 2013 S5 coupe w the Status Exhaust and Flash upgrade to 400+ HP and swaped to a 2015 C 63S June of 2015. Never looked back!!! Always being a coupe guy took delivery on a 2017 C63 last month. Love it! The car is over all larger than the Audi S5 certainly faster.
I can't the any difference in useable HP w aggressive driving between the C63 S sedan and the C 63 coupe having owned both. 3.8 vs 3.9 0-60 hard to measure. Hope this helps!

So far I'm very much enjoying the C63 S. Even in Dynamic mode (equivalent to S/S+) RS5 doesn't even come close to the power I feel in C63 S. The exhaust sound and its overall looks is a guaranteed head-turner. I simply never experienced this kind of attention with RS5. I'm a introvert, so this is not necessarily a positive for me, but for now since it's new I'm enjoying it.

Compared to my Audi, the only negative I can think of so far is the side assist. In Audi the notifying lights were in the body of the side mirrors, in such an angle that was only visible to the driver--me. Bright enough that I never, ever had to turn to the side to actually view the side mirrors to notice them. While looking straight ahead, they were visible in my peripheral vision. And they were extremely accurate. With the C63, I absolutely have to turn my head to each side to check for the red triangle. Maybe over time I'll become more accustomed to this, but for now I'm finding just looking over my shoulders to check my blind spot to be more convenient, defying the purpose of side assist system. There have been a couple of instances in my total of 2 days of driving (around 50 miles total) when I felt the red triangles didn't even bother to turn on when there was a car in my blind spot. I could've been wrong. I hope that's the case.

Sorry for the rant-sounding bit. Just a small observation far....

Hey MessingWithMerC, tell us more about the difference between the C63 and the RS5. Maybe you can talk a little bit about the tech inside?? Or the difference in terms of grip (Quattro to RWD). Congrats on the new car!!

Side Assist, I ordered mine with the P 3 package. The side assist is pro active and will vibrate the wheel and all but not let you change lanes if anything is in your blind spot. Added plus w P3 is the headlight system upgrade is awesome w auto high-beam and steerable lights.

ThenC63 RWD is very nice but,I found the Quatto on my S5 maybe the best handling cars I have owned. That car was on rails, no difference driving wet or Dry conditions. I look hard at the AMG C43 for just that reason but ruled it out because on little shout on HP and no Double clutch available .

Well I think @JWIV hit the nail on the head. "The car was on rails" ALL. THE. TIME! Coming from RS5, I immediately noticed the difference. Making a right turn at the intersection, pushing the gas pedal just a bit too hard made the tail go crazy! Felt like I was driving on water or something for a second. But is that really a bad thing? haha Well, I guess it depends. I drove from Vegas to SoCal and all the way up to Portland, OR and back with my RS5 a couple of years ago. On the way back between Portland, OR , it was past midnight, it was pouring rain (poor visibility + wet road + lots of trucks on the road) on a terribly winding road between Portland and Medford I thought back about my past cars and I realized that none of them probably could've handled that challenge like RS5. It was solid as rock--"the car was on rails".

That said, I'm not planning on repeating that experience and I don't live somewhere that rains/snows often. IMO C63 is clearly a more fun car to drive. RS5 was a looker, but once you hear C63 roar, you can't take your eyes off.

@JWIV: Mine has P 3 too. I haven't tried to change lanes with a car in my blind spot to see if it'll stop me. But I'll take your word for it

Congrats.

For being a generation old, the RS5 you had looked real good. I always double take when I see one on the road. It was just a gorgeous design like the E92 BMW M3.

wow beautiful! Did you have it done at the dealer or just a body shop? How were they mounted to the rear bumper? At the moment, I'm not too sure how I'd feel about having them removed, but something to think about for sure! Thanks for sharing the picture. (beautiful house by the way!)

Absolutely. A beautiful car. But the C63 is in a different league in my opinion. That said, I can't wait to see how the next generation of RS5 will be like.
