Picked up C63 estate this morning (yey), now have check engine light (boo)

The day finally arrived and after an early start I drove the 90 miles to the dealership I ordered my car from. Sorted out all the paperwork and jumped in the car for the drive back. Within a mile of leaving the yellow check engine light came on, span around and went straight back.

They said it was an o2 sensor that triggered it but they couldn't find an issue so reset the light and sent me on my way. Made it in to work successfully, loving the noise of the v8 with the perf exhaust even in comfort mode...

On the way back home tonight the engine light has come back on, I called the dealership who said to ring mobilo to get it recovered, rang them who told me to drive it into the dealer to be looked at.

I was told the yellow warning light isn't a serious issue and the car is safe to drive with it on, however I need to do a 200 mile round trip tomorrow for work and won't get chance to get it into the dealership until Wednesday. I did ask if continuing to drive while the light is on would affect my warranty and was told it would not as the light on its own doesn't mean something's about to fail.

Had anyone else had similar issues with the o2 sensor and know what's likely to be the cause?

Absolutely love the car but it's kinda taken the shine off the day I've waited so long for!

I wouldn't sweat the engine light short term. In another car, I found out it isn't catastrophic, just means get it checked.

Unrelated, gutsy parking move. I'm even eyeing that grey car for you.

I'm in the UK and we're RHD, so both the cars I'm parked between have the drivers door on the opposite side to my car, best option I could find!

I went into the local dealership before setting off this morning, they just booked me back in for tomorrow, didn't seem overly concerned about me doing a load of miles today, and it made the journey without a problem.

One thing I'm pleasantly surprised about was the door handles are body coloured - all the photos I've been looking at online have them as half chrome, I'm not sure if that's a recent change or it's something specific to the estate version.

Also noticed a bit of the trim around the rear window hasn't been fitted properly, will point that out to them when I take it in.

Nice motor Dunc. Do you have keyless go? I think that's the option which gives you the chrome trim on the door handles.

Enjoy.

That's the badger, no keyless go so no chrome, makes sense.

It's home!

Replaced two o2 sensors which they had to get shipped overnight from Germany, had a bit of a drive round and no sign of the CEL so hopefully all fixed now.

There was also a recall notice they actioned, but I've no idea what that was, slightly surprised on a recall on a car that left the factory two weeks ago!

Looking forward to getting to drive it, shall try and get some nicer photos at the weekend to share

Sweet looking ride, wish we could get the estate in the states. Here's to no more check engine lights!
