Turbo lag

Anyone else have severe turbo lag coming off a dead stop? Makes the car so unresponsive to be dangerous pulling out onto a highway...never felt such bad lag. Love the car once it gets going, but such a turn off...I will move on soon.

No, you are rediculous. The torque more than makes up for the miniscule amount of lag that is barely noticeable. You may be talking about the start/stop which can be defeated. Just hit the button. It's not turbo lag.

What turbo lag? You mean the lull caused by the stop/start function? Other than that I've had no issues. From a dead stop is when I get the most get up and go. Torque monster means fast starts. There's not much if any turbo lag in this car. Must be user error.

Don't beat up the OP just yet. He may be having a tranny issue that he's mistaking for turbo lag.

I didn't think that he may be hitting traction issues and pulling power for the traction control

Or traction control because he's mashing on the throttle too hard and it's cutting his power.
People need to research their problems before coming and making claims the car has issues.

Hmm... I don't think anyone would say this car has any significant degree of turbo lag. I'd recommend you look into other issues as well. Unless you have already looked into other issues and have determined it is indeed turbo lag, in which case you're probably the 1 in 1 million that think this is an unacceptable amount of turbo lag... It's no more lag than any turbo BMW I've driven, including the m4. Sounds like you straight up need a NA car in that case. Or supercharged... Maybe the Challenger Demon is better for you.

A V8 + twin turbo + hot-v setup = no turbo lag. Car makes over 300wtq @ 2000rpm and 400wtq at 2500. You know what real turbo lag is? Putting a GT35R turbo in a 1.4L motor. It doesn't even start to spool until 4000rpm or make any power until 5000rpm.

It's not arrogance, people are grilling you because you're providing the flamebait. "So slow it's dangerous to enter a highway". lol

Only time I can think of experiencing what you described is when I've driven the car in Comfort mode.

Comfort mode starts the car in 2nd gear instead of 1st, and because of this there is definitely a laggy-type feel off the line. It feel like the car doesn't have any real power and you are having to use significantly more throttle than you feel like you should have to.

Switch out of Comfort mode, and that feeling completely goes away.

Other than that, I've never experienced any noticeable turbo lag on my car.

There is no point of explaining it because it seems like the OP already made up his mind. Some people will have a bad experience and instead of finding out why they immediately will hate on it and mention things like "I will move on soon" or "I wont be keeping this car" and ignore everyone's input. The OP is really going out of his way to let us know that he is getting rid of it.

Obviously, there are three things happening here, which are:
1. Something is mechanically wrong with the car (Go to dealership?)
2. You are driving the car incorrectly
3. You are a clever troll.

If you browsed the forums, you would see people really don't complain about "lag" when the car is driven properly.

The OP is feeling "acceleration lag" due to poor use of the right foot.

I have the opposite issue, I would sometimes want minuscule power to make a turn in a parking lot but the car is so responsive it gives me loads of power and torque... Not complaining though cause that part is actually fun

It's just traction control , it kills ignition not turbos. Put it in Sport and stab and steer

The fact that question even comes up and posted well I will say he deserves the flame.

better be careful with that suggestion. He's going to look like a Mustang driver at a Cars and Coffee event.

Turbo lag, wow that's one thing you couldn't complain about with this car and I've owned quiet a few turbo cars.
