Newbie with some questions re 2015 C63S

OK guys, I got tired of trying to act my age by having a responsible daily driver (e250 Bluetec - great car btw!) for past 3 years. Decided to return to my hooligan roots and get a C63S sedan. I'm loving the car and simultaneously trying to retrain my brain to go back to 15mpg after enjoying 32mpg for the past 3 years.

Anyhow, I find the hardcopy of the Owner's Manual to be marginal at best. All too often it refers owners to the online manual, which I have not yet located.

So here are a few questions that I still have after reading the ***ing manual:

1) How can I disable the fancy schmancy nighttime headlights so I actually control when the high beams are on or off? I keep trying to use my high beams but the car won't let me unless it is pitch black outside. I'd simply like to be able to use the high beams when I want to use the friggin high beams!!

2) Likewise, is there a way for me to use my cruise control without the additional automatic distance sensor for the car in front of me? Sometimes I want plain old cruise control, while other times I may find the automatic collision avoidance feature to be helpful.

3) Lastly, and most important of all, my e250 had a simple menu selection in the radio that allowed me to play music from my iphone wirelessly (i.e. using the bluetooth). I have sync'd my phone but I have yet to find a menu to allow me to play music from my phone wirelessly. I will roll this ***ing car off a cliff if I can't do this. Somebody pleeeeeeeeease educate the ignorant.

Many thanks to all. Sorry for the somewhat pedestrian questions!

Well Rob, I can't answer all... cause I've never used cruise control in my life, but:

For high beams... I keep the lights on the Auto setting.... just flip the little wand back (on the left side of steering wheel), towards you, and the high beams should go on at will.

For the music... you need to sync your media/audio device, being your phone for a second time. Then play your music and you should be good to go.

Hope that helps.

To manually control the headlights, you have to switch the headlights from Auto to On, then when you turn them on they stay on. With auto headlights you get the auto high beams (which I really like)

It sounds like you have distronic which prevents you from rear ending someone when you have the cruise set. You should be able to disable that through the steering wheel controls (I don't have it).

After you sync your phone, click the media button, then select Bluetooth device and it should connect. You have to open the proper app on your phone and it should play.

Good luck!

Why do people want to run their high beams all the time? Unless there's no traffic around at all, you're just blinding people ahead of you. If it's pitch black and there's no cars, the auto lights will enable the high beams if you try. They disable them when it's going to affect other cars.
