Just my personal opinion, but the short answer is no if you're leasing. AMG leases are absolutely ridiculous

What do you guys think about $1000/month. $10,500 drive out. 10k miles/year. 89k msrp. If I add 10 MSD I am able to get hat to $912/month. They rough the msrp down to 78.5 but I think I can pull at 76.5.

Pretty good deal but I wouldn't put any money down on a lease, if the car is totalled you lose the money you put down. If you do want a lower payment just the use Multiple Security Deposits.

That 10.5 down includes first month, fees, etc so it's closer to 7k cap reduction. I completely understand the risk with totaling. I would agree with you but the only reason I am putting more down is I might purchase my first home (potentially) in the next 3 years so the least debt to income possible will be best for me.

In your case I understand putting the money down. I would go for it.

Horrible deal.

Get insurance with a stated value and your done. No gap.

Also, look into the derivative down payments that lower the MF.
