Laser/Radar Detectors
Anyone use them in the C63s AMG?
Located in CA. |
Yes, ALP FTW.
I'll take a pic of my install for you later. |
Thanks. My only concern here in CA is that everyone has laser guns now (LIDAR) so by the time your radar goes off I assume you're already screwed?

That's what ALP is for bud. It's a jammer. I had my first save after a year and half last month! The motorcycle cop was using Lidar and he couldn't read my speed. He pulled over the car next to me instead, although it was going much much slower :rolf: I'm also running Valentine one as a Radar Detector but I believe Escort came up with a better model recently so I'd get that if I were you. |
Isn't laser jammers illegal in CA?

Who said anything about speeding?? But anyways, I will be sure to notify the police about your car if I ever get the chance.
Anyone that's inquiring about jammers is asking because they want to "speed" safely, hence why I said that. Now GTFO. Edit: Weren't you the little girl that wanted to take her own helmet to the AMG academy? I see. I think you belong here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Barbie/ You have no business on a performance forum. |

Sure. You can also let them know that I have a front windshield tint and catless downpipes as well as upgraded turbos... and then what? Idiot.

You're stupid! I have a radar and use it to keep myself in line and not cross the max limit when possible. When the radar goes off, it reminds me to keep within the limit in case I accidentally whet over 5 mph or so... You sound like a dumb kid.

ALP (AntiLaser Priority). I also have a hardwired Valentine one that you don't see in the pictures. The ALP is just a Lidar Jammer.

I finally give some knowledge back to the forum :)
Forget every other radar detector, the only setup you want or need is Netradar and ALP laser jammers. There are more expensive options, but nothing is better. Not Escort, not Stinger not anything. ALP is the Laser jammer and as far as I know it is not illegal anywhere in the US. Radar Jamming is but, not laser. Netradar isn't perfect and it has its bugs, but for sensitivity, range and minimal falses there is nothing that can beat it and ALP is the only jammer to jam all guns. See my setup. Similar to Guiltys but, I much prefer mine (no hard feelings) Laser aims high to hit windshields and headlights reflectivity, so you want your 3 heads as high as possible and in as straight a line with all three heads no more than 24" apart and in line. The large bubble in my Illuminated Star is the Netradar. The 3 smaller heads is the ALP RADAR JAMMER. |

if you only have two heads then you can't be saved from Dragoneye. 3 heads mandatory to jam it.

There is a way to check what states and jurisdictions have Dragon eye guns. Luckily not many do but, many more are getting them because of their difficulty to jam. Ive been hit maybe 3 Times with laser in 2 years but, man is it satisfying to know they can't get a speed reading on me .
I have mine set to auto jam for 3 seconds then disable so that the Cop can ultimately get a read, otherwise they may get pissed and pull you over to "inquire" why.. |

Funny story: 5 years ago, I had a Laser Interceptor with manual kill switch. It went off for the first time ever and I didn't know where the sound was coming from. It sounded like a fire alarm. I freaked out and slowed down. I legit thought my car was on fire! I then noticed the the cop hiding behind a bush with his little gun trying to get reading and he had the most WTF priceless look I've ever seen. He kept looking at his gun and my car back and forth and once I passed him, I saw turn trying to get me from the back... Too late, I was already 20 mph slower LOL. I then learned to kill the jammers as soon I get hit after slowing down otherwise I'll probably get pulled over. |

Just make sure if you're being targeted to slow down and then shut off your system to allow them to pick up your speed. |
Yes, it illegal in many states including California which is why ALP is sold as a "parking aid system". The jamming is disabled by default.
