Planning to buy a 15-16 C63s Sedan - Thoughts?

I'm getting ready to purchase a C63S, I've been looking at 2015-2016's with under 25k miles. I'm looking at one now with 24k miles, I was hoping for less miles but it has some pretty good options.

Is this a good year to buy? I've been hearing about a refresh for the w205 and would hate for a new body style to come out and/or for them to depreciate a lot in the next year or two.

I was also considering the coupes but there aren't many used deals out there. For the sedans I've been seeing cars that were around $80-$86k MSRP now selling for $60k - $62k

Just wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on things I should avoid or look out for and when the next major update will be.

And if you have one you want to sell let me know!

Thanks

I bought a used 2017 with 8K miles for $74K.

I refrain form buying 1st year models since they usually iron out production line issues after 1st year and have silent upgrades.

I would suggest a 2016 and make sure it has the packages that you want. New body won't be out till MY2019 looks like... so another 1.5 years till you see it on dealer lots.

like digitalnav said go for a 16 or 17
I purchased my 63s in dec of 16 as a left over new car .
got 12% off retail price and another 1.000 for being good customer. :rolf:

I have a '15 C63S sedan, and (knock on wood) have not had any significant issues on my car at all. Only issues I have had are a few squeaks/rattles, and they have all been things that are easily fixed permanently by the dealer.

I might be biased, but I wouldn't be scared of a '15 sedan. Of course test drive it first, but if that goes well I'd pull the trigger if the deal feels right.

Thanks! All good to know. I'm hoping to find a 16 but I just happened to come across a 15 that is optioned really well.

I've considered new leftovers but these cars are pretty hard to find and I'd still be paying a good $12,000 more for a new one, even with 12% off MSRP

Going to keep looking to see if anything else comes on the market with lower miles.

Check AutoTrader: there are at least 4 new 2016 C63s left that I'm confident you could get for $60k. I paid $65k for a C63 S back in April. Might require a flight out ort having it shipped, but you can save big $$$ on a NEW car.

I bought a 2015 sedan with 15k miles this year.. no issues at all.. sticker was 94k .. got it for 62 👍🏼 Don't be afraid of the 15's

Having owned 4 merc's I will say they don't change much, wouldn't worry between years on these. There hasn't been any major known issues with the first run like head bolts like the last gen c63's.

Just make sure you like before you purchase it.

Damn I hope that is true but I just can't seem to find anything like that. Unless I'm missing something? I only see 1 new 2016 S on autotrader. MSRP is $84k, not sure they'll go down to $65k

Any chance they'll discount 17's more than 12%?

I might be in line to sell my 17 c63s sedan later this year. As of now, 6k miles. DM me if you wanna keep in contact and might be interested

I just did some math on my car for giggles..

I pay $1079 per month and I have 17 months left on a 3 year lease.

Quick math says I owe $18,343 before I turn in.
Buyback on the car is $42, 497 after the lease ends. (calculated residual)

Add them up and the car's value today is $60,840

This doesnt take into account mileage, wear and tare on tires, brakes, etc.

I imagine you see these prices and they are very similar across the board based on msrp, residual values and down payments.

If you wait 3 months I suspect you will see prices in the high 50's..
