Question 2018 C63 S Coupe MSRP Discount?

Hi All,

I'm planning to start negotiating price for a custom order but I'm not sure what MSRP discount is reasonable. My understanding is that the 2018's just started production this month (July) and will be released in August. Available build dates are end of August or September.

Total MSRP for my build is $86,010. I was thinking a 6.5% discount should be do-able?

I live in San Jose, California, but am thinking of calling up dealerships nationwide to shop price. Will that be worth the time though?

Thanks

Here's a dealer ordering guide for anyone interested. Updated 7/24/17. It's missing a lot of pricing info though.

And it does not mention that the Parking Assist Package (996) requires the Multimedia Package (320).

I custom ordered the 2018 C63s as well, negotiated a 4 % discount at my NY dealership and im the very first allocation with my car built and currently at the port. What your asking seems like a stretch personally. There is people that have a november ETA its not like they have tons on the lot. They can sell it for msrp easily considering its brand new and desirable car. The later the delivery date then the better chance you will have of getting a bigger discount imo.

How many dealers did you negotiate with?

One. Your planning on calling up dealerships trying to see if they will give you a higher discount? That just doesnt seem likely. They make a small commision already off custom orders. What is calling multiple dealers going to accomplish? You ordered it from a certain dealership. I dont see many dealerships jumping to take delivery from someone asking below msrp. Then again I wouldnt know. I never tried it.

Oh. My mistake. When you said custom order, I thought you were implying an order already placed. Then yes calling dealerships may definitely help. But if your already acquainted with a specific dealer, its most likely they will give you the best deal. I also heard that cali dealerships are less likely to give higher discounts, if that means anything

I know you are asking for 2018 coupe, but I got 7% off msrp + any current incentives + bonus on my custom 2018 sedan (2 dealers in NY gave me this, but chose the one who answered first). So definitely you can do that discount.

Thanks for the info guys.
It seems like sedans get a higher discount than coupes though.

I'm also debating back and forth on either custom building mine or possibly getting a 2017 Model (sedan) with all the bells and whistles I am looking for. I am hoping If i do get a 2017 Model hopefully the 2018's start rolling in and I can get a steal for the 2017...Wishful thinking but anything is possible!

No dicount here. Full sticker price for the vehicle. The only freebies were all weather mats and the AMG center caps. Vehicle came in at over $86k.

@Digitnav I remember looking at your You Tube Channel and definitely one of my favorite regarding the C63s especially since it's the Sedan. No dealer seems to cut me any deals on the 2017's except for a maybe 2 % off MSRP, I guess with the spec sheet I wanted on my car there are only a far and a few left so I guess they really don't want to budge. I might just wait close to end of the year and maybe find a steal possibly if that particular 2017 is still available. I just remember how many of the 2016's he dropped when the 2017 first rolled out so maybe I can wait for the same happen this time around we shall see.

I would say you're lucky to get 4-7% on a custom ordered 2018 (very lucky on that higher end). I wouldn't pay sticker as the car's already been out for 2 model years, but since the '18s are just entering production it's going to be a little difficult to get a discount. Calling won't help much either...always better to do it face to face and to let them know you're serious about doing the deal right there and then.

Nice! Similar deal here as I got $10K off my '17 I picked up in June. Definitely the way to go for a deal as there's no real change on '18s to warrant paying so much more.

Hey guys, I have an update. I ended up getting 8% off MSRP with a build date of Sept 2 and an ETA of December. I ended up in talks with 13 dealerships. This particular dealership is about 45mi away from me..so not too far.

I recommend against trying to negotiate price in-person..

Actually, it is scheduled to be built second "decade" of September, with an ETA of late November. Not sure why they told me Sept 2.

Another (slow) update:

I ended up buying the car 11/10/17. I got it a clear bra, ceramic pro gold package, 40% tints around & on sunroof, and 75% tint on windshield.
So far I've needed to get coolant and windshield wiper fluid topped off. Wipers chatter when I use them..wiper fluid gives temporary relief. Not sure what to do about it.
I recently read about the 2k service for the LSD, so I'm getting that tomorrow (I'm at 4200 miles though).
My average mpg to date is 15.8 - I've mostly been driving in Sport+.

Anybody recommend a dealer in Southern California or in a nearby area, even vegas, to get a good deal on a c63s coupe?
Thanks in advance
