What's a good deal on last year's model?
Hi all,
I was curious today about what offers may look like on new c63s, c63, and c43 amg coupes still sitting at dealerships.
At some point these 2017s will be considered last year's model, and as such should see a price reduction.
If a dealer has had the car for 3 months, 6 months, 8 months, how much off or how much of a deal do you expect the dealer to give?
I understand it is in their best interest to move stock quick, but haven't been able to find any info. Please let me know what you guys think.
All help is appreciated!

Is there a refresh coming out that I'm not aware of for 2018. If so when will that be available,
i might just grab my deposit back and wait

i don't mean to sound stupid but what do you mean by last years model. I've just placed a brand new order with MB for a C63 s and they have to go for new build slots. I think I will be waiting until January 2018.

It has nothing to do with a refresh.

Also, you better move fast. These aren't like leftover Ford F150s where there are literally thousands available. I searched cars.com and found like 20 2017 C63/C63S coupes still left and they are scattered all over, so finding one you like nearby might be tough. If you wait for the 2018 to actually arrive, there might not be any 2017 left.

I would shoot for at least 6-7% off. Other people will tell you they got way more, like that one guy that got eleven grand off his car, but if a car has been sitting for a long time, and the dealer just wants to get rid of it, 6-7% will get you to the invoice price.

I'd wait a little longer until they have 2018's on the yard. It will be harder to source but as long as you have the right SA, they can trade cars with neighboring dealers, etc. as long as they are in the region.
I would be shooting for 10-12% off in October and more as the year progressed. Chances get worse and worse at finding a car with the options you want, but luckily the top tier of the c class comes with a bunch of options as standard fare.

Thank you all for the input so far. I agree with most of the points made.
Based on what I can tell (I look at stock nationally used and new daily) and roam around the forums, I would expect 4-6% off at least on a new model(2018), even custom order. That being said, I will say I was anticipating answers like 10-11% on year end (2017) new modes, and up to 18% on used 2017 models that came back for some reason.
Personally, I don't have an issue inheriting someone's year old used (not damaged) car if it will garner increased cost savings.

This past weekend, I offered $65K on a '17 C63 sedan with an MSRP of $74,595. They jumped up to start wrapping it up for delivery until I said I want to consider the AMG GLC63 Coupe coming in a few months...

It really depends on how motivated they are to get it off the lot. I would go in there having a number and try to stay firm. I did that last August/September when I was after a 2016. 3 different dealers had very similar if not identical cars and they all had been in their showroom for 6+ months. I was able to get 14% off from the 3rd dealer I worked with. It took some work but I put in an offer and they ended up coming to me because they were really motivated. I made it very clear that I was serious and I was very honest. It might take some work but it is possible to get what you are looking for.
