Active sound module

I guess that means for max noise with the ASR module, you need both the exhaust button in the car on (to get the H valve open) and the ASR open button pressed (to open the rear valves)?
This is what I do. I have the remote with only two buttons - flaps open or ECU-controlled. I always have the exhaust button on and ASR-flaps open mode. I have 2015 63S sedan, and for me there is clear difference regarding the sound. It is deeper, rougher (difficult to describe). It would be interesting if ASR would develop a module connected to current module which controls the H-valve.

When the module is activated the exhaust button is isolated and doesn’t make any difference to the sound, it doesn’t on mine anyway, the module does keep the valves open but the difference in sound is hardly noticeable, the car is going in to the dealers to get a rattle sorted in the tailgate so I’ll take the module out and probably not put it back.

I may be putting my module up for sale. I’m going to give it a few more days to see if I feel any differently.

I am starting to think it has something to do with 2018 models. It's not normal that most hear a serious difference and 2018 owners do not.

My 63 is also a 2018 sedan. The module has hardly any effect on my car. I also have had the secondary cats removed. Really disappointed the module does not open the H valve flap and would have to get an exhaust simulator or what ever it is to open it.
Has anyone tried forcing it open with a simulator? Can anyone point me in the direction of where to buy?

To be fair, the thread did state that the module replaces the two rear flap simulators, not the H pipe one.

Still, it’s definitely concerning that people aren’t noticing a difference.

I wouldn’t know. Three weeks later and I have nothing lol.

The module does keep the flaps open but on my 2018 car it makes no difference to the sound whether the flaps are open or closed, it can only be the H pipe
one that changes the sound.

It’s starting to look like the module was not tested on 2018’s and thus should not be listed as a compatible vehicle. I will be reaching out to the ASR guys...

Once some others get their shipments in for their pre-2018 vehicles, we'll have a more definitive answer, too.

That's really odd only 2018's are affected, I think you guys should reach out to Daniel. If the valves are physically and visually wide open, I don't understand why there isn't that obvious increase in volume like with pre-2018's...maybe the h-pipe is defaulting to closed at idle on 18's or possibly have different exhaust valve programming?

I'd say try getting a sim and try to get the hvalve to stay open in conjunction with the module since you've already gotten it... Maybe then you'll notice more of a difference?

Understood, but personally, I'd sit tight for another week or two. Lets get the consensus on whom it's working for and whom it's not. And if it becomes evident that it's all the 2018s that its not working for, then maybe that'll be helpful to ASR to update/modify your units, and provide a unit swap or something to that effect. But if you handle it on an individual level only, no one benefits.

Either way though, you get taken care of. So why not see if you can help out others in the meantime by sitting tight for a few more days? Just my $0.02...

I received an email from Daniel and my module is on the way. I'll let the forum know my findings as well.

I agree, the only thing is the ASR module only affects the rear flaps which don’t make any difference open or closed on idle, in stock mode they must be linked to throttle opening and open along with the H valve to make the noise, in effect making the ASR module redundant, that’s how things are on my 2018 car, it must be different on older cars.
