Hi, I'm new to the forum but I've been following this thread for a while. You shouldn't expect an answer today and/or on Monday as both are bank holidays throughout most parts of Europe due to Easter.
I am a quite new owner of the C63S and I love it. But, I doesn't have the sound I expect from an AMG. Even though my car is equipped with the performance exhaust it doesn't give me enough AMG feeling. Hence, I started researching and found this video:
It basically tells you the exact version of software for both the engine itself, and the gearbox. Great I thought!
But, after extensive calling to authorised dealerships around Sweden (where I live and the car is registered) they told me this software version cannot be fitted in my car due to EU regulations & the fact that they can't "choose which software that goes in my car and gearbox" and/or "retro-fit old software" into it. Major bummer.
After this, I went on to do research with different non-Mercedes-authorised tuning companies. No luck here either.
I finally then found the Active Valve Control stuff, that according to this video (already posted above, I know) from the seller CAN MAKE IT SOUND BETTER:
I've emailed the guys now, expecting an email back Tuesday next week or I'm giving them a call. I really, really hope this will give me what I want. Is there anyone on this thread successfully mounted a mod that ensures 100% open valves on all RPM's?
Thanks in advance guys!

The adapter would then allow us to put the unit in the trunk, and only have that function? And by the way, if I buy it and it doesn't come with English instructions I'd be more than happy to make a short video.

I have the exact same question. 2015 C63S Sedan here. If I understand it correctly, you and I would need both the unit + an adapter cable listed under the products section for the W205?

Yes I was one of the first ones to get the ASR.
install is very easy,,,complete plug and play.
I know you guys are waiting for GB but a lot of time that takes a few weeks or more to go through. I think the ASR is worth the money I would just buy it outright.
here is video I used to help install

Definitely looks very easy to install, I'm still confused around if I need the unit PLUS the adapter as it's being installed in the trunk of the car in the video, however their webpage says "not for install in trunk". Maybe it's just Google Translate messing up the translation from German to English for me, or I'm just stupid
My ASR is mounted in the trunk.

Yes, but you have a C43 right? Under the product specific for your model it says it will go straight in the trunk, but looking at mine it says NOT to install straight in the trunk and they have an add-on which is the adapter... Still confused. Check it out on their webpage if you're feeling extra helpful today :-)

I cannot buy a piggy-back unit that goes in the engine room as I'd be in trouble when I do my yearly inspection. At least that's a no-go for me in Sweden, and I'm guessing it's the same for any and all EU citizens.
That only leaves the Active Valve Control option for me.

Just emailed him and I will post his response to my questions here so you guys can benefit too from the information I'll receive.

Hello,
I am interested in your product:
https://dbautoveredelung.de/epages/1...roducts/AKSUEM
I have a C205 C63s Coupe (2017) and would like to know where is the install location? (inside trunk?)
Also, is it 100% plug and play or does it need to be hardwired into the Canbus?
Would you be so kind to sent me your installation instructions for this unit?
Thank you very much,

Already got a reply:
Hello
The flap control is connected directly to the exhaust engine. This is not connected in the trunk.
Disconnect the cable from the exhaust engine and plug in the flap control
Best regards

Yup, so this leaves the ASR with adapter and the Active Valve Control as the only options, at least for me. Piggyback in the trunk on a $90k car is a no-go for me.

So can we get confirmation from a C63 owner that has purchased and installed the ASR module? Is it installed in the trunk and it’s a simple install? I think the website has a specific one for the C63 as there’s 2 versions and we need the updated one perhaps...relying on google translate so i could be wrong. Also for those of us with the performance exhaust button will the button still work or does the remote from ASR override it?
How does it sound with this module and is it worth the cost?
thanks in advance

After a lot of back and forth, I'm placing my order today with Active-Sound. I don't want a piggyback in the engine room in a premium car. It's expensive, but hopefully it'll be worth it. Review in this thread can be expected from me!
