https://www.active-sound.eu/en/merce...-valve-control The sound is so good with sound up date have a look.:D Forcing the valves to be 100% open all the time will make a huge difference in sound. That price is a little crazy for what it is though, it should be half of what they're asking. |
I thought it was the middle h-pipe valve that was dynamic with revs/throttle position?

Not sure Andyroo but the car does sound a lot better when they are fully open. Also this video shows how the software up date for sound improves the bangs a pops to the car. |

Yeah I had the sound update (well worth it!), I was just surprised to hear that the rear muffler valves were dynamic rather than open or shut. The only reason I say that is because I get that dynamic sound change like a valve is moving around at different loads/rpm, and I have the non-valved rear mufflers!

Andyroo you say you had the up date do you know the version they put on and in which setting ie sports, sports+ or race and how many pops and bangs do you now get in the modes and at what rev's when in neutral. As they said the up date has been done on mine but have not noticed the sound being anything like in the videos after there up dates. just wondered if you are getting those short of sounds after up date. Do you have the performance exhaust or standard.

FYI, neither of those videos have the valve module in it (turn on english subtitles) - the first one just compares the exhaust software update vs the old software, and the second just has two C63's, one with the software update, the other without.

If you look a very first post on this the link to this YouTube video is in the post AlexZTuned :y
I was just clarifying because you said the valve module was in one of the embedded videos posted - took me a bit to realize it wasn't in there until I clicked on the english subs :y |
Has anyone tried this out or found a cheaper version of the same thing? If this makes the car louder at lower RPM, but also with the option of having it quieter on cold start, it's just what I am looking for.
The install looks really easy as well. https://www.active-sound.eu/media/fi...leitung_en.pdf But that price  |

The install looks really easy as well. https://www.active-sound.eu/media/fi...leitung_en.pdf But that price  I inquired about a group buy and they said they would discount: 1-5 => 360.50€ ($419.6 USD) 10+ => 342.50€ ($342.5 USD 15+ => 325.00€ ($378.3 USD) Retail is 429.00€ ($499.3 USD) Price excludes shipping, and VAT is excluded assuming all are shipped to the US. ...if we can get 10 or 15 people to commit, I'd def be in at that price. |
I would be more interested in getting rid of the H pipe valve since it squeaks whenever I start up the car or rev it.

There is also a company that sells same module
http://asr-component.de Anyone try it? |

No mate but have emailed to find out some more about this module as there in not much on the web site, need to know if it opens the flaps fully or not as the Active sound module does which gives the full sound of the engine all the time if wanted.
When you push the exhaust button in your car, the valves are not completly open. Just 50 – 70 %. With our valve control you can open the valves completly independently from your Drive-Mode and other parameter. And the valve is 100 % open. So you get the maximum sound out of your exhaust. An other advatage is that the valve control has an memory. So if you open the valves once, they are still open after you turn off your car and turn on next day. Only thing that confuses me is it seems the active sound controller does not have one but asr does |
My stupid question is as follows.... From what I’ve learned browsing other posts, the non performance exhaust (which i have :( ) has dynamic valves. These open or close given throttle position and dynamic drive mode. Can these be controlled via the module as well or is it only for performance exhaust equipped vehicles?
