Catback power gains?

Catback power gains?

is there any power to be had in the catback?

I currently have DPs and tune and am looking for a bit more power

Catback, prob not. Mostly sound. The restrictions are primarily the stock downpipes and the cats, so..

catbacks make little to no power these days. buy it for sound and that's really it

I concur with everyone here - maybe, just maybe, you'll see 5-10 HP. But you won't be able to tell with the butt dyno.

The biggest benefit is the weight reduction if it's a light catback, but as most have said this is mostly for sound. Though personally, I think the stock performance exhaust sounds way better than any of the aftermarket exhausts I've heard. And catless downpipes just ruin the deep exhaust sound with all that added rasp.

I'm eventually going to buy the active valve module that keep the stock valves 100% open - that'll give the stock exhaust a lot more volume because with OEM programming the valves are never completely open unless you are under full load.

I'm also a fan of the secondary cat delete with performance exhaust, but don't like the idea of hacking up the expensive converters.
