Removing chrome window trim
Has anyone removed the window trim on a w205 sedan? I was thinking of wrapping it with vinyl but would rather just take it off and take it to be painted if it can be removed safely.
Any tips for taking it off and putting it back on?

If you do get it painted, just make sure they prep the surface well. Typically paint doesn't stick to the hard chrome surfaces well, which is why it's common to see painted grills have little rock chips on them over time.

Wrapping would probably be your best option. If it got chipped/scratched/etc, you could just get it re-wrapped easy. I have several little things wrapped on my car and they look great.

Just tried it. All of the window trim comes off in 2 seconds. It's no different than the W204 in this video:
I'd much rather pull it off and wrap it or have it painted. You can get a much better wrap with it off and don't have to worry about cutting near the paint.
