I never challenge them, but I do love parking next to them. I had to laugh recently when I parked our E55 between an E350 AMG and a GLA250 AMG. They were both gone when I came out.

I suspect a significant majority are unaware that they're fake. They bought the car used and probably paid a premium because it was an 'AMG'. There is an older woman in my neighborhood driving an S400 AMG. I regularly see another E350 MG driven by an elderly couple. This is Florida.

AMG badges on C300 and C350 are very popular in NYC. I see at least one car a week... A guy lives a couple of blocks away from me and he has W205 C300 with luxury package, AMG vinyl and of course AMG badge. He also drive like a douche.

Aren't some of those legit though, cars with AMG packs? I thought it was like M badges, some cars have M packs and M badges, does the same not apply with Mercs?

No. Appearance packages have never included the badges and shouldn't. Although I personally believe that Mercedes devalued the brand with cars like the C43. Where's the handbuilt engine? That's a defining characteristic of a true AMG. The C43 is a rebadged C450. Mercedes themselves are now officially posers.

So what's the 'rule' for amg apparel? I currently don't have an AMG model, because I needed something that was good as a daily, so I got a C350 coupe 4matic, but now that the C43 coupe can be had as a 4matic, it's my next car. I really like the whole AMG concept, and what it brings to Mercedes. My C350 came with AMG wheels, so I guess it's got a little dna in it.

I do like embarrassing the AMG guys when I'm out in my toy. It puts over 900hp to the pavement, but it's just brutal. Far less refined though. I wish the c63 had a 4matic option as I need something here in the northeast that can handle winter weather. High hp rwd just isn't fun everyday.

Probably better they buy a car they car afford and slap an AMG badge on it if it makes them feel better. The alternative is getting in over their head on a fLEASE and living at their mom's house.

I was just joking around. I don't agree with changing the badging on a car, but I have some AMG Petronas stuff since I like and follow Formula 1. I didn't know if that broke the 'rules' with AMG owners.
