Shippers/Carriers

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving Day or Happy Black Friday's Eve Eve!!!

Anywyay... I'm buying a brand new '17 C63S from a dealership in Colorado. However, I live in Chicago. Haven't decided if I should fly out and drive it back or ship from CO to IL.

Can anyone recommend a highly reputable carrier that won't break the bank? I'm looking to pay b/w $500 - $1000... I, of course prefer covered/enclosed shipping...

Appreciate all insight.

Thanks in advance!

i used montway inc. they are a shipping broker and they did well for me.

relaible carriers is a good tranport as welll and i would probably try them next. I wouldnt think that youll be able to get enclosed for under 1k. just saying. also there are 2 types of enclosed. hard side and mesh side. hard side enclosed will be most expensive. with mesh side being slightly cheaper. open transport being the cheapest.

I also use Montway. They are actually picking up my W205 c63 s tomorrow. I used them 3 or 4 times with no problems at all.

If you opt for enclosed transport expect to pay more than $1,000.

It’s always a crapshoot with these carriers. I’ve used Montway years ago to transport a different car across the country and it was an absolute disaster. I would NEVER under any circumstances use them ever again - nor can I recommend them to anyone. They just contract out their work (like most large carriers on uShip), so you could end up with a lazy, incompetent driver who’s incapable of communicating/speaking English.

THIS.

Bottom line is, you get what you pay for.

If you go with a broker, you're rolling the dice with who's going to actually transport your car. I've had some positive experiences, and I had one where the guy arrived 2 days early, and didn't want to wait, so he literally dropped off the car unannounced, unattended, without anyone to sign for it. Yes, you read that right.

For cars that were irreplaceable, I've used Horseless Carriage (owner-operator), which is expensive, and of course, the best in the market, Intercity Lines. Best reputation, and very reasonably priced. And you know exactly what you're paying for, and you get it. Every time.

In short, the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten. Food for thought my friend..

Why not try a reliable transportation firm. The firm will deliver the car at the doorstep, it saves time and energy. One of my friend hired Connecticut Auto Transporter and had a good experience with this company. This firm also provides the facility of online tracking which can be found to be helpful. You can try the transportation company for your car transportation.
