Greetings MB Massive,

In my last C63, A 125 coupe when pushed it would go into limp mode when the gearbox got too hot, VERY Annoying!!

I Now have a New C63 205 and do you know if the fault remains and if so should i get a gearbox sump extension to carry more oil and thus run cooler?

Have not noticed any issues what so ever of overheating of the transmission.
Hopefully we can get someone who tracks the W205 to say if it runs too hot.

I have not tracked mine but some are and I have not sen this complaint.
Mine runs about 183 deg in normal summer driving and up about 10-12 deg in spirited mountain driving with no limp mode ever.

Never had a problem with the trans. Skip that transmission pan, it’s a money grab for stock and even tuned power levels. It’s only folks with upgraded turbos pushing over 1000 NM that start to have issues with the trans slipping. And I’m fairly certain it’s trans clutch plates need to be beefed up at that point, not this larger capacity pan.

Depending on my driving style my trans sits at about 185 just cruising. If i do a couple pulls depending on my driving style i’ve seen my tran temps go up to 210F, most i’ve ever seen was 264F and that was after 4 consecutive rolling burnouts 😂

W204 MCT ist the same (hardware) like in the new W205 C63.

google this tranny to understand the heat transfer improvements. think of riding a bike uphill, with higher gears versus one with more gears to choose from and how that helps you reserve energy. Works the same for machinery. more energy used to propel, more heat generated. nespas?
