I'm going in in 10 days for the differential recall and want to also do the free Navigation update while I'm there. I now have a version 7.0 and want to know what the most current one is so I can ask for it and not get jerked around. Anyone that has a newer one please let me know the current version. Thanks

I just had mine updated yesterday. Service ticket doesn't say the version number though. Is there a way to look it up through the NAV system?

Yes ( I think ) access the dealer menu by going to vehicle settings and highlight system settings and then pull your comand wheel to the left for a few seconds to activate the dealer menu and from there you can find it.

If you go into the NAV screen, pull down and scroll left to select Options, select Map Content, there is an option to view the map version. Attached is a pic I took of mine that was updated yesterday (Version 11).

Did you guys just go and request the update or were you notified? I read somewhere on the Mercedes website that you would be notified when you had a update available. I'm on version 6 so I'm way over do.

I didn't even ask for mine. I just saw on my service receipt that it had been updated.

It's nice because recently a new highway was built near me (Grand Parkway for the TX folk), and it's good that now my NAV knows I'm not off-roading through someone's cow pasture anymore.

I read that also but I have V 7 and now V 11 is out and they did not notify me--I had to ask.

That was nice of them. I wish they would have done that for me. You would think that would be something that they would do automatically when you come in. I had no idea I was that far behind until this thread.

I guess I will have to ask also. Probably do it when I do the recall. Kinda sad you have to prompt these people.

I went in yesterday and specially asked for it and they did it for me.

Is there something that shows exactly what the update is? Is it just the Nav or updated firmware for the COMMAND system?

Sorry no information on Australia but for what its worth in US its v11. And from reading the official MB site, it comes with 3 year complimentary updates so if you're within the 3 years of purchase, it should be free of charge.

I might make a trip to the dealer the next time I'm in the U.S. to get a free update!
