Recall C63 S AMG
Anyone take their car in for the recall? Seems that under heavy load the rear end could fail...Not sure I want the dealer to de-tune (software update) my car for this unlikely event?

Just an improvement on the ESP/traction control software to reduce shock load to the diff flange. There's other threads on here, owners reported the car felt better after the recall, allowed a tad more wheelspin, felt faster, not slower.

I just had my car (June 2017 build) in to service the 2000 mile rear tranny. They checked all recalls; only outstanding is clock spring issue on some c models which they do not have a fix for. There was nothing about the problem you describe with MY 2017 (at least my build date).

Does recall affect the value of car if you are selling it? Dealership gave me a low buyback price and said since there is no fix for recall for 6 months the vslue of car drops dramatically and my car is 1year d with 4300 miles.

I have a Ford GT (rear engine) which has had a continuous airbag recall.
Prevailing sell price hasn't been impacted. I believe this is a dealer ploy to reduce your trade-value. I do note that Carfax tends to indicate a lower resale suggested price for some cars with outstanding recalls.

Depends on the nature of the recall. There are tons of airbag recall cars out there now with this takata situation, many will not have parts for some time. Dealers have to disclose that a recall is open and not completed, so yes this makes the car harder to sell.

I have a recall out on my car but it is different, it for re-routing oil cooler lines for the turbos. I called the local dealership, and there is currently no solution for this recall. 2017 C63s coupe.

Mine is a 2016 made in Aug 15 and I would think after they found the problem and decided on the fix they would incorporate it in new builds.

The recall is this:
17V627
"Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that certain MY15-18 E-Class, C-Class, GLC-Class, vehicles (204, 205, 207, 212, 253 platform) have insufficient electrical grounding in the steering column components. In rare instances, if the steering column module is exposed to an electrostatic discharge, and if the steering column module clock spring is broken (due to wear), this could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. A broken clock spring will illuminate the SRS warning light as well as display a warning message in the instrument cluster. As a precautionary measure an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, will add sufficient grounding to the steering components on the affected vehicles."
