C&D confirms extensive suspension retune for the 19's

"Meanwhile, all C63s come standard with what Mercedes describes as an “elaborately retuned” AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive dampers..."

For 2019 they are going after the biggest complaints, it would seem. Harsh ride and sloppy transmission.

Will they ever allow the same tune on previous cars? Especially, if it is going to improve traction and safety?

There will be a tune update for sure.

I definitely hope so! But I'm thinking it won't come to older cars. The new 2019 suspension may be physically upgraded to have a "wider range" of stiffness settings available.

If the current hardware's "Comfort" is "as soft as it can go", they won't be able to tune the comfort mode any "softer" than it is now.

I'm OK with the comfort setting now, but having a "wider range" for free would definitely be welcome for times when I'm driving my grandparents in the car and want the car to be as soft as possible.

I'm hopeful MB may not have initially allowed for the full effects of comfort mode and there may be some room left.

Yep, the 19's should be quite nice.

I wonder what aspect of the mid model update is delaying the cars. The C&D article states:

"the cars arrive in U.S. dealerships by early 2019."
