Randy, why not share what important info you have on the forum, seeing as it sounds like it would benefit the greater community as a whole?
FYI, I just had the bumper off of my C63S Vert, and I had the mesh grill protectors installed without any of the coolers or lines removed/disconnected.

Mercedes leaking coolant from driver side intercooler
Mercedes-Benz has released a L.I. (Service Action) on certain AMG and non-AMG models to retrofit the lower radiator grille guard with a new one that is supposed to mitigate rock intrusion/damage. This is not the real issue, as we all know. It's the side inlet coolers that are ALSO getting hit with rocks/debris. Other manufacturers put screen guards. I think Mercedes should. I know the aftermarket has them, but what we pay for these cars, shouldn't it be standard fitment? I'm interested in the idea of starting a class action. I know you need some people to do that, but I don't have all the details. How many of you members that have had a non-warranty rocks damage radiator/aux cooler/side intercooler would be interested in joining in? My last SL had metal mesh guards down there. My current Mercedes have nothing.

I am appalled that manufacturers like Porsche and Mercedes, for example, are getting away with this practice of no intercoolers protection. I believe they should be held accountable. A friend of mine with a Mercedes was told 'turn it into your insurance company'. Why?? Grilles should be standard equipment, IMO.

1) Not sure why the W205 C63 isn't included
2) I had to sign a waiver before they paid for my 2nd cooler repair. I was also initially told to claim it with my insurance company.

Basically a non-admission of guilt and a release of liability and (so I can't sue them).

No. I paid the bill the first time. The second time, I was about to pay for it again, when I found the threads on this forum showing it was a common problem, and other members had it covered. And the battle ensued from there (it literally was an uphill battle to get them to cover it). Go back to Post #88 and #90 in this thread for the details (page 4).
As for the release, I gotta reread it to make sure nothing in it states its confidential, and if that isn't the case, I gotta black out all the personal identifiers. So it'll be a minute...

Take those low coolant warnings seriously
I unknowingly suffered a puncture recently on my 2019 FL. Fortunately it was fully covered.
The low coolant warning started popping up intermitantly. I had to take my car in for an ESP safety recall anyway and my SA tells me one of my side radiators is damaged.
There was no coolant on my garage floor so must've been a slow leak that landed in the engine pan.
Pay attention to those low coolant warnings!

Does anyone know of a manufacturer making radiator stone guards for the 205 C63's, oem or aftermarket? Keen to get something on the front of mine to prevent the above issues..

After speaking to a number of radiator shops I think the quality of our AMG units are not the best when it comes to durability especially when exposed to the open road.
The fins are quite weak as well as the tubes so there's no strength in the metal to withstand impact from debris resulting in easily punctured heat exchangers.
I am in negotiations with my insurance to have custom units made as these will be fabricated using far better materials and more superior designed quality cores over factory items (I will protect these as I don't want to go through this again).
These cores are made with usually an extra 10%-15% stronger core surface not to mention will be more efficient.
I plan on having a system R&D'd to handle up to 1000hp as it won't be long before some of you start building your forged blocks requiring upgrading cooling systems.
Will keep you all posted but keep the the pics & experiences coming in as this thread highlights that there's an issue in design.

Transmission oil temp
Hello guys,
This we, while driving slowly, I’ve seen transmission oil temp increase till 108c.
outside temp was not elevate and shifting on motorway always on 7th gear.
my question is what can be the reason of this ?
I had not alter but I’ve never seen that before...

Check your small (middle) coolant reservoir under the hood. Is it empty?
Mods, please merge with Damaged Coolers thread.

Yup probably leaking cooler. Btw does any one know of an additive that i can add to the reservoirs to lower the coolant temp for the summer. Im seeing 215f very often now.

Make sure the transmission itself isn't leaking fluid. I was engaging in some spirited driving a while back and noticed my transmission temp get pretty high. When I looked behind the car there was some smoke coming out while driving. I immediately backed off, drove casually and went home. There were no leaks from the transmission cooler and the coolant reservoir was at the proper level. So I put the car on jack stands, removed the belly pan and saw that the transmission leaked transmission fluid onto the exhaust.
I took the car to the dealership and a line to the transmission had failed causing fluid to leak out. The line was replaced and the transmission was serviced and I haven't had a problem since. Although the cooler wasn't damaged and leaking coolant, the loss in transmission fluid caused it to not have sufficient capacity to cool the transmission.

any updates as to upgraded mesh protection and/or upgraded heat exchangers to protect the AMG C63S? Mine is being delivered in June, so wondering if its ready been addressed in the refresh of the front end, or if there is now an AMG version of a part upgrade to protect the area.
does anyone know if this was addressed by MB on the new C63?
