C63S Buyback

Anyone ever purchased a Mercedes Benz buyback? I got a chance to get a car that seems to be fully repaired at a substantial discount.

Stay away. It will be impossible to re-sell at a decent price and MB doesn't buy back vehicles unless there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with them.

Depends what you mean by substantial. ie 50% ? or 20% for example. Also if it has 3 or so years of warranty then I wouldnt automatically walk away, however, i'd be inclined to find out exactly what happened to the vehicle in the first place and also how many miles on the clock, together with an undertaking from the dealer effectively ensuring they will cover a range of potential issues that crop up.

You get what you pay for. Substantial discount is for a reason -- it'll be harder to resell, you could have serious problems down the road. As long as the savings are worth the risk, go for it. Did they say why the car was bought back?

It was bought back for CEL and misfire, there is a letter from MB that says the problem has been corrected. The car has 20 months/32k miles of warranty left from MB.

Most of the up-front savings will be lost on the sale, because the buy-back is documented.

Also, something simple like a CEL and Misfire would not lead a buyer to go through the buy-back process. My guess is that it's a CEL and misfire that keeps coming back, so yes it's fixed now, but it's probably going to come back again, which is why the car was bought back in the first place.

I been searching this forum and CEL and misfires seems to be pretty common problem for the W205 C63 scaring me a little.

I think that's the exception, not the norm.

People don't tend to post thread's that say "PLEASE HELP: Car runs normally!"

Hello, I'd like to share my experience with everyone as well. On my new 2019 c63s after 1000 mile break in and wanted to try the sports plus mode. 80 miles later the car started misfiring. I've never kick down the car in this period of time and never went above 4.5k rpm. Took it to the dealer, they said they changed all 8 of the spark plug and ignition coil. After two days dealership called said the problem had been fixed after repair and testing. picked up the car and got on to highway during rush hour. The same problem happebed again, engine check light came on. car vibrates and when giving gas the rpm goes up and down crazy jerking the car... how it was been almost a week returning the car for the 2nd time. I can track the last trip with mb me app. they did about 6 miles test drive and left the car running for almost 3 hours idling. after that the car just been untouched, anf no update from the dealership. The lemon law says if the car had same problem 4th time or been in the shop 30 days or more then theyll have to buy it back. My service rep is very unprofessional with me. Im thinking if i should just wait until they call me and drag the days in shop longer to meet the requirement. I bought this cabriolet for the propose of doing a aroynd the US road trip vlog... how can i rely on this car now
