SOLD! Ended up selling it to my local dealer. I was getting very little movement otherwise. This just takes one more thing off the to do list.

 

Mind sharing what the dealer paid you for it?

 

They paid $62,500. Originally offered $60k. ONLY offer I got was for $64 and that one MIGHT be in a week or two whenever this dude gets paid. Considering I'm moving out of country in a month and it's difficult to find buyers for a higher priced car, I took their deal. I budgeted getting $62k for it, so I guess I'm in the positive. I still have the factory mirror caps, diffuser and spoiler, so I'll put those up for sale. I'm keeping the hood emblem.

Still have my 2017 Civic and 2016 Yukon Denali to sell....

 

You made the right call for sure. The $64K guy was never going to come through, just a tire kicker.

Yup. First rule of selling a car is to sell it when someone shows up to buy it.

I've had a few Craigslist tire-kickers get ticked off when they find out that a car that they were "really interested in" has been sold. Sorry, complete stranger, but when a nearly-full-price buyer shows up with cash in hand, I'm selling that car.

 

Selling a car privately is one of my least favourite things to do. The amount of "characters" that you have to deal with off Craigslist and AutoTrader is tiring.

I'm sure those guys who are ticked off are upset that they couldn't throw a super lowball offer at you before you sold it. LOL

 

Yeah, overall, I feel much better not dealing with it. As I'm sure y'all can imagine, moving out of country has a lot of moving parts and can be quite stressful. Good to not be dealing with tire kickers and someone looking for a joyride.

Believe me, that is on my mind...but with a USD $15k premium or so to buy one in NZ, it probably won't happen. Still looking at maybe picking up a used one. We'll see.
