Widest Tires You Can Run on C63S Sedan? Let's Hear it!
Hey guys,
Looking for some wheel and tire specs for a 205 C63S Sedan. What is the widest tires you have seen able to run on the front and rear of the sedans? I have seen 285 & 295 in the rear but wanted to see if anyone here had any experience or pictures with info. Thank you |

I’m running PS4’s, 295 30’s in back, 265 30’s up front. I have KW HAS at the lowest possible drop. I had PSS 285/35’s before, and these are noticeably better. Highly recommend this combo. No spacers it’s a perfect fit. |

Whats the width and offset of your front and rear HRE’s? Your car looks great. For his setup we used 19"x9.5" // 19"x10.5" |
Am running 255/35 19s front but can go upto 265 and 295/30 19 rears |
max you could fit in the rear is 11inch rims with 305s which is what I have. I tested out 275s on 10s from my friend's car in the front so I am thinking about moving up from 9.5s to 10s in the front.

I am sure stock height can also run it but it will poke. Mine is lowered

It's 19x11 +55. You can check out my thread for every detail you need to know if you want to fit 11s in the back of your car

@RDO247 I noticed you are running 295/30 r19in rear and 245/35/19 front on standard rims. i was planning on doing the same. Grip on original width tyres is atrocious. I know that the 295/30/19 there has a slightly smaller radius than the stock 265/35/19. If I go with 295/30/19 in the rear and 245/35/19 in front will it cause problems with the traction control or stability control? Will the computer think the rear wheels are spinning because they need to turn extra revolution for the same speed as stock sized tyres? im not concerned with the width fitting on original rim as much as I am about the diameter changes. if any one else has any input much appreciated! |

Did you ever get clarification on this?
My previous setup was 265/35/19 PS4S on the front and 295/30/19 PS4S on the rear fitted the factory cross spoke wheels with no issues with safety systems as the difference in over all tyre height was minimal. From memory the 295 with a 30 profile gave the closest measurement to the original 265/35. I have since upgraded to 9.5” fronts and 10.5” rears BC Forged wheels and also note my car has always been lowered 20mm on KW HAS. I am currently running a 295/30/19 Toyo R888 for street use since upgrading my turbos which give better traction over the PS4S’s. When upgrading my turbos I had my rears Guards rolled as I knew I would be trialling a number of different tyres combos to get best traction. I ran 305/35/19 Micky Thompson’s for about a month on the street, however, with the kids in the back it did scrub out on the rear bar section just under the mounting bolt where it secures to the guard. It it was pretty much fine with two in the car scrubbing on the occasional dip in the highway. The 305/35/19 Micky Thompson’s are a full inch taller than the PS4S and R888’s so clearance is super tight. I’ll save these 305/35 Micky’s for the drags. Hope this helps. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...e072ce2ae.jpeg Toyo R888 295/30/19 https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...7936a714d.jpeg Micky Thompson 305/35/19 https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...162c93456.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...76de4a839.jpeg MT 305/35/19 vs Toyo R888 295/30/19 https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...ce448720c.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...8deade58d.jpeg Section of rear bar that 305 scrub |
Wow that’s wide. I’m just looking at options to increase traction. 265s in the rear on PS4s just don’t cut it, even in the summer heat if Austin TX!

I'm running 305's on my 16 C63's Sedan. I do get some minor rubbing when I have people in the car but potentially could go away if I pull the fenders some.
The issue with the MT 305/35 is that the over all height of the tyre is 27.2”. The 265/35 PS4S is 26.3” The 295/30 PS4S is 26”. The 295/30 R888 is 26”. The 305/30 R888 is 26.5”. Im also running F & R K-Mac camber kits with -1.5 F & -1 R camber so tyres are standing quite straight to preserve wear. |

Not sure what AMG was thinking when deciding to fit 265’s to our cars.
I’m going to be on my second set of rear pads and third set of rear tires in 22k miles soon. Lol. |

Agreed. I’d probably look at putting a slightly wider wheel and a 285 on to match what the coupe has. I think that would help noticeably, but would want others that have done that to weigh in.
I’m going to be on my second set of rear pads and third set of rear tires in 22k miles soon. Lol. Now perfect ware across front and rear tyres after another 18 months, seriously worth fitting these. As for rear pads, I think I went through 2 sets then upgraded to Porterfield. Much better life, less dust and little to no squeak. Search RDO247 for all my posts on upgrades and changes I’ve done over the last 3 yrs. Hope this is helpful for everyone. |
