Woohhh! Finally bought my dream car! More sound?! 😆

Finally.

New C63S owner in the house. I'm one of the guys who never signed up on this forum but have been reading all interesting threads and posts over a years time, thinking and preparing my self for getting my dream car. Initially I wanted the 204 AMG for years, but after a test drive just before with this newer 205 AMG S that was so much more refined and modern in all ways - it had to be this one. So happy and can't wait to get more familiar with my new toy.

My model is a black 2016 C 63 S, and a quick question is that I don't think I have as much exhaust pops as what I have been seen in different videos. Only in Sport+ when downshifting. So how can you get the car to make more of those sweet pops?

Also, the car is running Continental ContiSportContact 3 and I must say the road noise is horrible. Any tips on better tyres? Is Michelin PSS the way to go? Maybe the newer, Michelin PS4s?

I have been heard that there is a software update available, but also read that for some it's making the car more quiet which is a big no thank you.

Many questions now...

Tyres- definitely PS4S

There is an update for more pops and crackles but it generally takes some effort to get MB to do the update.
Secondary cat delete is the easiest way of adding a little more volume.
The combination of these really improves the exhaust note.

I would actually contest that the sound module is the easiest and cheapest way... I'm actually perfectly happy with the increased sound from the sound module, so much so that I've decided to NOT go through the trouble of secondary cat delete for now...

Interesting! Is it the ASR module that you use and recommend skim7x?

I would highly recommend it, huge difference, 100% reversible, can switch it on and off. There are videos of it in action in the sound module thread. Alternatively you can plug in o2 sims to each side of the exhaust that does the same thing (see the thread), just can't switch back and forth like you can with the sound module. A lot of members are selling their modules because they have 2018 models for which it doesn't work ,but it should work on yours. Check out the thread.

I’m in the same boat too. Was set on doing secondaries but the module already adds a bunch of volume down low. I say down low meaning below 2200 rpm. Above that, to me, it makes much less of a difference, which makes sense since the OEM flap control was probably opening up more anyway. Still, it is open a bit more than OEM on sport+, as I’ve compared the two back to back many times but switching off and on the ASR module.

Maybe the secondaries add volume past that ASR sweet spot in the rev band?
