2019 C63S Deliveries

I put my order in last July. End of December, dealer said it was scheduled to be built in February and I'd probably get it in late March or April. As of yesterday, I asked for an update and got "no update". Pretty frustrating

My SA told me mine is still “produced not shipped” since feb 11th. Waiting for a boat. It’s a brutal wait.. I ordered mine sept 5th

I ordered my C63s couple last June and am still waiting for it to be built. Was told "mid-March" but no update as yet. This is from a volume dealer who I'm sure would prefer to have the car built and get it sold. Agreed MB needs to do a much better job keeping its customers up to date. If they wanted to, and build a lot of brand loyalty along the way, they could easily ascribe a build # to each customer then take pics along the way and include them in the delivery package. If the roller coaster at Six Flags can do it......

If you don't have a specific allocation, that means the dealer is putting other orders in front of yours and will fill yours after the higher margin customers get their cars first.

Not sure I have *the* answer, but I think what esqueek is referring to is that your dealer should give you a specific build date that has been allocated to them. For example, my build received an allocation and is scheduled for 4/1/19. If a salesperson tells me "sometime in April" then that is not a specific allocation but an estimate based on when they might expect an allocation. This would tell me I have nothing set in stone and it's a guesstimate at best.
Anyway, it does sound like there is some sort of delay in general, by the experiences mentioned in this post. I hope they resolve it soon though!

It would help if folks posted their locations. Seems the delays/holds are being reported by UK members. Perhaps a specific issue with RHD versions. The sedans are also built in different locations depending on the market. Could be a quality control issue with a specific factory, so state if sedan, coupe or cab.

mrguitar, this is the information I had at end of December:
Decade Planned: 19/02-1
Decade Scheduled: 19/02-1
Production Date: 02/1D/2019
Status: B0
From what I understand, that means that the car was scheduled for the first 10 days of February and I *think* that also means there is an allocation.

For completeness, I'm also in the US, SF Bay Area. Mine's a 63S coupe, obsidian black and all options except for HUD and ceramic brakes. I ordered at the beginning of November, car was produced a couple of weeks ago, I have a VIN and Euro Delivery is scheduled for May 6 as requested by me. As far as I know the car is ready, but most likely they are working on the registration and insurance between now and then.
You ordered a cab, right? Seems US coupes are on schedule so far. Cabs are also made in Bremen, Germany, but at a much lower volume. They may be cranking out the coupes first.

Yep, I ordered a cabriolet. That was my thinking also. I've seen that some people have already taken delivery of cabs but I haven't paid attention to where they were.

oops you were asking senres...i've seen tons of cabs at dealerships online already. i know this is like the first wave of cabs, but i sure hope it's not a sign of things to come with custom builds...

I’m in Central Texas USA. I pushed my service advisior to get more specific information on my build and I haven’t heard from him in a few days.
At this point he’s probably as tired of me as I am of him and this process.

For those of you with delays and lack of updates, did you by any chance add the HUD? The HUD has limited availability, and will most likely delay production. Apparently, the HUD is not a particularly popular option, so MB keeps a very low inventory. I got this insight from the GM at my dealership. MB first thought that the HUD would be very popular, but they ended up sitting on a lot of inventory and to avoid that they made it limited availability now.

I would expect people would have gotten notified if a part was delayed as I did.. but if it’s a stock part maybe not.
My issue is that the car was produced but isn’t even at port waiting for a ship and it’s been a month. I find that a little odd.

I had this happen with the digital cluster. Dealer called me and said there would be a delay and they didn’t know how long. They gave me a production decade without the option. I told them to reject it and resubmit with the digital cluster. They did and the next day I got a slot for 2nd decade of feb so the wait wasn’t long.. then it got moved back to first decade of feb and ultimately production completed feb 11.

I ordered both the digital cluster and the HUD. If the HUD is limited that could certainly explain it but if that's the reason they aren't communicating that to the dealer.
Edit: my order sheet does have the 5P6 code in the build.

I remember that. The HUD is officially listed as limited availability in the order guide, so delays are to be expected. The digital cluster is not. Not sure how real that delay was. I don't think many are ordered w/o the digital cluster. Here's another one. Whose build has the following option code on it? It seems this code designates vehicles to be built first. I thought it had something to do with mine being ED to make sure it gets built in time, but apparently this code is found on early builds in general.

I'm guessing the dealers are supposed to know as it is in the order guide, and they should have made you aware of the limited availability and the potential of a production delay. I generally dislike HUDs, because I wear polarized sunglasses to get rid of glare from the windshield and the HUD reflection is all glare, but I was toying with adding it anyway. I decided against it after they made me aware of the limited availability. I didn't wanna risk a delay for an option that I wasn't really keen about anyway.

That's a bummer. I'm on the fence with the HUD to be honest, I don't think it's a key feature. I plan to own the car for a while and it's not that expensive a feature so mostly I didn't want to regret not getting it. If that ends up being why the car is delayed for months I could have foregone it. At this point unless they can tell me I'll get the car months earlier than if I wait, I'll probably just wait it out.
