Hissing sound from exhaust?

Has anyone else noticed this? I seem to hear a hissing sort of sound from my exhaust at certain low rpms. Im trying to figure out if this is somewhat normal or something I should get checked out? It seems to be more profound when the car is cold so my guess is that it has something to do with the valves.

lol I know right. I shouldve added that I have my secondary cats deleted too but I dont think that is the cause since the sound was there before the delete as well.

Asked the dealer to look in to this while the car was in for the electronic rear acle inoperative message.

was a little worried that they may try to blame it on secondary cat delete but they said the valves need a special lubricant. Sounds like a simple fix

Is that when you're on boost?? And it's a rattle/ticking that is very regular in rhythm? I've been having that, but having a hell of a time getting to reproduce it for the dealership... Almost sounds like wastegate rattling or something...

i asked the dealer to look at it and the service advisor said that they had to order ‘special lube’ for the valves so ill find out tomorrow if that fixes it or not.

Ohhh... I thought you meant "hissing" like a snake, but you meant a rattling like a... snake... 😪

Regardless please let us know if it's fixed... It sounds like something is broken every time I'm on boost. And I'm stock

You have an exhaust leak.... I'd check the welds on that secondary cat delete....

nope its not an exhaust leak because this sound was present even before I got the secondary cat delete.

also, the dealer would have noticed the leak if that was the case

Interested to hear the outcome from the rattling as I also have the same. I've heard of dealers replacing the whole exhaust to fix it under warranty

Mine sounds like it's coming from the engine bay, not from underneath the car.

Dealer said noise will stay be there for 2-3 weeks until the grease they applied can go down the shaft. They isolated the noise to front exhaust flap so they removed the front exhaust flap actuator to spray apply greast to shaft.

not feeling too confident in this ‘2-3’ week thing. They said if the noise doesnt go away to bring the car back and I have a feeling thats whats gonna end up happening.

Oh... Exhaust flap, meaning the PE valve in the H-Pipe? I could see that making the noise... But the waiting 2-3 weeks thing IS a bit sketch...

As expected the noise never went away and after taking it to the dealer again, they are now blaming the cat delete for it lol.

The sound was there even before the cat delete but of course theyre not gonna listen uhhh

Mine does the same without cat delete so that's obviously bollocks from them! Not that you didn't know that already of course
