Volume Boost

it seems pretty dumb that I have to change the volume control from normal to boost every time I start the car. Is there any workaround for this?

Search is your friend.

i did search but no solution came up or was that just your way of saying that there is no work around for this?

so basically with these cars

1) turn ignition on
2) switch to individual mode
3) turn volume boost on
4) finally drive

LOL pretty ridiculous imo but oh well at least the v8 sounds good

Yeah pretty much. Unless its cold out I'll keep it in comfort until it warms up. Also I find that it only lets me turn volume boost on if I connect my phone via bluetooth first. Or else I don't get the option. Annoying but I'm not convinced boost does anything but increase the volume so I'm not too bothered by it.

Drives me nuts as well. I haven't found a solution/workaround either. Lord knows I've tried. I do notice a difference other than it being louder. More bass and a little more crisper - IMHO. I also like the power meter (hp/torque) up on the screen as well. So each time I start the car, I have to fumble with these two (boost/power meter) settings - PITA. Not the end of the world however.

I find when I use Volume Boost, the bass cuts out if I really push it.

But if I leave Volume Boost off and play everything at Max Volume, it's almost as loud, but the bass never cuts out (which I find preferable).

What is volume boost?
I don't think my 2018 C63S has that.

If you have the Multimedia package it does. May even if you don't - however don't quote me on that. I put the pics in sequence to show how it's done. But it is also annoying because every time you start your car you need to press the Boost button. Wish there was a way that It could just stay on constantly.

I didn’t know it reverts back. Now that I know, it annoys the **** out of me.

AJRDU 02-11-2019 05:05 PM

I doesn't revert back in the 2019s. I guess they realized how annoying that would be.

FYI - theres a software update out. now if you select boost it will stay there.

i dont know much details. I just told them that my command screen randomly turned off once so they updated the software.

I can confirm this update fixes the boost issue. Dealer applied the update to my 2017 C63S sedan.

KJ 03-24-2019 11:26 AM

Any other benefits you've noticed after the update? (faster menu's etc.)

My bass cuts out when using volume boost. Such a bad audio system that volume boost is needed but then another problem occur with the bass 😂 do anyone else experience the same? I first thought my car had blown out speakers

KFJ512 03-24-2019 02:14 PM

Yeah thats what i thought as well but then i changed the equalizer on my note 8 and set it to full bass and it was a night and day difference

Yes, the bass cuts out when I use the volume boost.

But if I don't use the volume boost, and crank the volume to (near max) it won't cut out at all.

If I go higher than (near max), the bass gets trimmed and only the rest of the frequencies get louder.
